So how did we end up with byu here? they were the 2nd best team in the tourney. Blame TX for playing moon ball, and blame Stanford for not recruiting left side hitters. Don't they already have a 1st team AA on the left?

You are sadly mistaken if you don't think there are capable replacements for those players. Just go back to having to replace Fawcett, Hodge, Harmotto, D'Errico, et. al. It's not automatic. Go back to 2011. PSU's backrow D was NOT good. Fuller, Gonzalez, and Carpenter really struggled. That was a big part of PSU not winning a title that year. Yes, PSU keeps loading up on talent, but it is not always plug-n-play. We are seriously going to miss all of the seniors next year. Replacing them all at the same time is a tough pill to swallow, given their positions and production. I think Wisky will survive their graduations much easier because they are retaining so much at the most critical spots. I hate when your post is a downer. 2011 is not the same as when 2015 comes next year. In 2011, it was Micha's first year as a setter. And remember that Micha was not a "pure" setter, but a RS hitter learning to be a setter. in 2015, Weiskercher will be a pure setter and the learning won't be as steep. Not saying Penn State win it all again, but you can't use 2011 as an example because each is different. But one thing I know is that RR will make the NCAA like he has the last 34 or so years.

Were you the guy that said the same thing when PSU graduated Scott, McClendon and Slay last year? I can't remember as there were so many pundits predicting that PSU would fall back into the pack. I don't know if this is so much about Penn State falling back in the pack as it is other teams getting better. I certainly think a good gauge of how good Penn State will be is how they fare against Stanford early season. I think that other teams will benefit from a season under their belt as Penn State is falling a little not far anything less than Top 8 for PSU I think is ridiculous at this point but you are acting like replacing Hancock is going to be something simple. Is replacing a NPOY easy no, but everyone else is getting better as Penn State will be fairly young. Mostly players who haven't played before will take the floor. It's not about replacing a player as much as working with what you got. And Penn State got plenty next year. That's what good coaching is all about.

IF YOU'RE A RECRUIT HOW CAN YOU NOT CHOOSE PENN? Because they don't give athletic scholarships?

This is true Russ is a tremendous coach I criticize PSU but its the hater in me but I can't find a reason to dislike the guy is the best coach in Women's College Volleyball today. I am sure he will put his team in winning position.

First of all, congrats!!!!!!.... I have to get this off my chest though!!! Bunch of followers became winners. I wish some these top recruits would head somewhere else instead of wanting to be apart of an already developed program... Erica D, from what I could recalled, play a few sets and wasted her vball career warming the bench and now Simone Lee. I feel for these ladies- Stanford on the other hand, in the Finals would have given Penn a run for their followers. Erica Denny was injured. She did not waste her career. At all. Not one minute.

Simone Lee is good, but Frantti is just a whole lot better. Penn State returns all of its starting pin hitters (Frantti, Courtney and Whitney) so I guess Simone Lee will ride the bench again next year and be the "supersub" like what she did this year. What a nice problem to have for Penn State. Lol

Official attendance for tonight's match was 11,018 (about 60% of Chesapeake Energy Arena's capacity). And what, maybe about 30 of them were of Asian descent ... someone please call the Justice Dept! Are you an Asian hater or something like that? What does it matter if nearly a third were Asian? FWIW, from what I saw, it seemed that about 80-90% were white Okies.

She spent her final year of eligibility at the University of Denver and helped them make the tournament. Denver played in the first round and lost to Colorado State.

The scene where the players are boarding the team bus is one block from the arena, no bull****. What is the point? Did you want them to walk a block, carrying their gear? They got to enter as a group, through the phalanx of PENN STATE fans who were waiting for them? That was a really neat experience for the players.

There are a couple of middles on the team and would make a great run to replace Nia if she can be replaced
