wait, who's the libero next year for Penn? Pierce? You can cover two choices with that. lol I think Dykstra will be in the mix, but both Pierce sisters were the the secondary DS subs after Fuller. Could signal their place on the depth chart. Long way to go to the first match of the season, but I think they have the inside track. You hit the exact way I feel. Only difference is I think canuli the I comming recruit has outside chance. All the rest on team just don't see it. Pierce sisters dykstra and maybe canuli. Kendell played quite a bit in last two matches. Letting dom and lacy catch breather. Her sister Lainy is pretty good and has a very good serve. Both have good serves but I think little sis Lainy has the edge on serve

I thought Dykstra was a big time defensive recruit for PSU and she red-shirted this year since Dom was a Senior. She redshirted freshman season at ucla before transfer. I don't understand the point of redshirting two seasons. U only have 5 years total eligibility. So redshirting two seasons doesn't make sense. She only has three years left weather she redshirted this season or not

I thought that was her sister who left Nebraska and went to UCLA. Is this not the Dykstra who committed to UCLA and then backed out and went to PSU?
I could be in over my head on this one after so many consolation beers!

Is Fuller the redhead? Libero and the redhead impressed me.

Is Fuller the redhead? Libero and the redhead impressed me. yes fuller was the red head and their top ds. Gonzalez was Libero. Either prob could have been Libero though. Fuller prob has a better more consistant serve out of the two

I've always really liked Fuller. She is a ball of energy and a total goof (in a good way... like Jennifer Lawrence).

Really liked how Russ said in his press conference that Dom could have been the MVP these last 2 matches. Disappointing that she didn't receive an All Tournament recognition.

SHE WAS FUN TO WATCH, AND SEEMS LIKE A GREAT PERSON. BEST OF LUCK TO DOM GOING FORWARD. A REAL WARRIOR.

This is why we need one major change to volleyball statistics. We need a reasonable measurement for serve receive to become part of standard published volleyball statistics.
Gonzalez was awesome in serve receive. May very well have been the most accurate receiver in the tournament. I didn't formally record her passing, but my casual observation honed by years of receive recording is that she had an incredible tournament.
Penn state won largely because they run such a diverse offense. Stanford couldn't deal with the fast set to the outside pin, so PSU ran it a bajillion times. BYU couldn't handle the quick slide, so they ran it on almost every play. PSU could do this because they receive so well as a team. Gonzalez was a HUGE reason they could do this.

Both Gonzalez and Fuller have not gotten nearly enough credit the last two years. They have been unbelievably important to this team. Everyone focuses on Hancock and the hitters, but without them PSU comes up short both of the last two seasons. Remember them both as freshmen? They were serviceable; no one could assert herself, with Carpenter also in the mix. As sophomores they were slightly better, but as juniors they really turned it on. In 2011, PSU had awful floor D and passing. That cost them hugely. The last two seasons, our passing and floor D might be as good as it has been in the last 8 years. I am serious. I think Gonzalez is not quite as good as D'Errico, probably on par with Holehouse... but Fuller and Gonzalez together as well as the general improvement in the other backrow players has made for, to me, the best floor D and passing this team has had in a long time. I love it. It is going to be uncomfortable to see it all reset next year. Thank you for everything, Lacey and Dominique. You've been so important to this team. Dom wasn't our libero at that time. Ali Longo was. Dom took over the libero job after Longo transferred to Hawaii.

Coming in for Scott was a combination of Martin/Fuller/Dom/Carpenter (when she lost the libero position).
