How about this: PSU accepts the fact that Thelen is not going to pressure the opponent with a high kill rate nor give more than the occasional icing on the cake, keep the opponent honest kill, BUT she will be a solid blocker and allow the rest of the PSU attackers to do what they do best, where they do it best. Get her back in the line-up and let her confidence grow. Maybe we will all be surprised with what she offers come Nov-Dec; regardless, we do know what Whitney offers on the RS.

What's the word on Nia Reed? According to Dot, she's not at the level needed to make a contribution in this lineup.

Reed is extremely athletic and a great attacker. The knee injury set her development back a bit but I wouldn't be surprised if she made an appearance in the games this weekend. She might surprise some doubters.

It lets Thelen play the Fatima Balza role. Whitney is darn good in the middle, but I think they need her terminating out of system, especially with the passing woes.

She might surprise some doubters. whether she plays or not, the idea that she is a "great attacker" is preposterous. NOTHING to this point suggests that. If she plays, I hope she has 24 kills zero errors, but to suggest she has demonstrated she can do anything close to that is absurd.

I doubt you become a 3 time gatorade player of the year for your state by not being a great attacker.

I doubt you become a 3 time gatorade player of the year for your state by not being a great attacker. Do you think that every great high school attacker is a great college attacker?

I doubt you become a 3 time gatorade player of the year for your state by not being a great attacker. being a great HS attacker in the state of NJ does not make you a great attacker at the highest level of college volleyball. Again, I hope she tears it up if she is given a chance. It is my opinion that she is not ready to do that. I will be happy if I am wrong.

If Nia, Carly,Jelena, Lara, Tor etc. gets a shot, I wish them the best.
All are good players and must have earned a shot in practice. The games will determine if they hold the spots.
One thing for sure is that there will be very little reliable tape on what PSU lineup to plan for come end of November.

I think they will most certainly be in a set line-up within the next two weeks at minimum

Honestly, easier to spell and remember first names than last and I still couldn't get it right. Relax shhhhllllick
