I am so excited for the match. I already bought tickets for the Des Moines regional and ready to go to Omaha. I believe. I am confident that Birks ate her Wheaties this morning and confident that our setters and rightsides can keep Fairs in check. Keep forcing her toward Donnelly and we got this!Let's go Illinois!

"We started using Her (birks) in plays that just werent garbage plays". So I'm not imagining that this takes place, but I am completely perplexed that he's aware and it's ok with him. Such a disappointment. I feel like at least someone else other than me has already stated it before, it isn't that Poulter is making these choices, not using Birks, and Hambly is sitting on the sidelines saying "what is she doing out there?" That's been their game plan. As the L2 she was designated as their outlet for OOS and garbage plays. That's why the argument against Poulter has been so perplexing to me this entire season. She's just following the system she's been told to follow. It isn't her fault their system is designed the way it is. I really hope Poulter is allowed to show Illini fans that she's the girl capable of leading this squad through December. Best of luck to the Fighting Illini tonight.

I didn't imply that she shouldn't be used for the oss I find it odd that you wouldn't use her for both. I don't recall anyone but myself defending Vilunis for this same process but I must confess I assumed that he was trying to appease lasts years OP because of her high ranking. I've just never seen a team at this level not utilize a hitter of that caliber for anything but os. Seems foolish.

I am considering changing my moniker from "notpriddy" to "c.o.i.f." ("Crazy Old Illini Fan"). In my attempt to put this last season behind me, I am trying to focus on other things...like the holiday season. Here is my holiday wish for everyone:

What are everyone's thoughts about the future of Illinois volleyball? I'm a little worried. We had a worse season than expected, lose our best player, and don't have any highly ranked recruits coming in next year as far as I know. We still have a few great players, but will we have the pieces to compete at the top of the Big Ten again anytime soon?
