Matt's got options. Maybe too many options to sort through in two weeks.

Btw, I’m really gonna miss watching Agost play. Imagine if she had trained as a left side since her freshman year... wow she was already solid on serve receive for her first time being in a major passing role this year and she has some insane hops I kind of wish we had redshirted her freshman year when she played very little. She came in very raw and still has so much growth as a player left in her.

Matt's got options. Maybe too many options to sort through in two weeks. The Ducks are so deep this year. You could throw out these two line-ups in practice and I’d say it’d be pretty competitive every time: Team 1 OH: LVW OH: Nuneviller MB: Page MB: Bacon Opp: Johnson S: Raskie L: Hanawahine Team 2: OH: Rasmussen OH: BVS MB: Stone MB: Duff Opp: Borup S: Robinson L: Tastad Heck these might even be two separate Top 25 teams.

To be honest, you have Nuneviller on the court full time at libero or full time at OH2. Too good to be kept off

Agreed on the depth. I think he needs to redshirt at least one of the freshman MB, as he has Stone (Jr), Gil (Sr), and Page (Sr).

It will be very interesting to see what the solid line up will be. I have a feeling:
OH: LVW OH: Rasmussen MB: Stone MB: Gill Opp: Johnson S: Robinson L: Nuneviller DS: Tastad/BVS

Pure conjecture on my part - who knows what it will actually be, but . . . .
L1 - LVW L2 - Borup (DS - BVS) M1 - Stone M2 - Gill S - Robinson OPP - Johnson (DS: Tastad) L - Brooke N.
Raskie as super sub/energy infusion, backing up both Willow and serving as a front-row setting option if a big OH is going after frosh setter block. Bacon challenges for M2 over the course of the season. If there were enough subs, could even see that position split between 2 and 3-hitter rotations.. but alas there aren't enough subs. BVS is a very good pipe attacker and can help keep blocks honest.
There were a couple of things i didn't like about the 6-2 the past few years. It limited the slide (yes, I know you can run the X, but approach lanes can get crowded/interrupted easily and is rarely viable in transition), and another is that it really limited sub flexibility - you couldn't switch out an individual setter/opp who was struggling without taking the other out of the game and were just kind of locked in. I know there's a desire to get a lot of different hitters involved but I like the flexibility of the 5-1, in addition to freeing up the slide and subs for back row players (which we have more viable options for this year!).

Rasmussen first off the bench for a struggling outside? Seems rough to go from PAC HM two years running to no court consistent court time.

I believe it’s been public for several months; Rasmussen is taking a redshirt year to get fully healthy.

On her Instagram, posted June 12th “2 years down, 3 to go” so it does sound like a redshirt year

Ducks come in at #18 in the preseason poll. 15 of our 29 matches come against teams ranked in the preseason poll (with an additional 5 against teams receiving votes), including 8 matches against the preseason Top 10.

goducks.com/news/2018/8/10/womens-volleyball-ducks-boast-depth-versatility-as-preseason-begins.aspxPosition by position preview. I'm highlighting the middles because Ronika Stone has amazing dance moves. "I believe that running a one setter system will allow more opportunities for our middles to be involved on the offensive end. We need to get our middles more touches, and Ronika (below) in particular hasn't been used enough. She had a dominant spring and is feeling good. I've challenged her to become the top middle in the country and I expect her to exceed my expectations. Sumeet has gained a lot of confidence since January, she has a unique set of skills that make us tough to defend and I'm excited to see her compete and take on more of a leadership role as the season progresses. We have two very good slide attackers and I want them to be running wild all season. Both Chandlar and Karson have blown me away thus far. Their ceilings are so high and I love the improvements they're making with every rep. They have two great examples to learn from and they're engaged and listening."

I sure am excited for the Ducks this season. Will be interesting to see who gets the setting spot. This has to be one of the deepest and most talented Oregon teams
