I'm working on a project that I could use some community help with. It's called Volleyball Coaching Wizards, and it will be a collection of interviews with the world's best coaches - at all levels. My partner is one of the top professional coaches in Germany. We're still only in the beginning stages, which basically means compiling a list of prospective interviewees. It's not too hard to come up with a list of the best collegiate coaches. The AVCA has its Hall of Fame and we can look at the list of NCAA win totals. We can do something like that for high school coaches as well. The challenging level is Juniors. Not a lot of records kept for those coaches. So we're looking to crowdsource the nominees from that level. What we're after is coaches who have been active for 10+ years with a fairly obvious record of success. That could be championships or players sent on to college or any other objective measure. Equally as important, we want people other coaches can learn from. Good role models. Feel free to make suggestions here (if you're happy for the resulting discussion ), or do so on the website. And if you'd like to nominate someone beyond the world of Juniors, feel free. We're definitely looking for coaches in all categories who have done exceptional things, but who have mainly flown under the radar. Thanks in advance.

Over the last thirty years, I have had the opportunity to work with, compete against and observe many the top coaches in the US. One of the most dynamic, entertaining and knowledgeable coaches at the Juniors level is Mike Lingenfelter from Munciana. His ability to teach and motivate an athlete is a pleasure to watch.

Just a few the came to my head...
Ozhan Bahrambeygui (Coast) Rick Butler (Sports Performance, although the good role model part is debatable...) Ron Kordes (KIVA) Mike Lingenfelter (Munciana) John Sample (Texas Advantage)
Jim Stone is out of the juniors world now but had a good mix of college, junior club and international experience.

Terry Pettit. I don't think he coaches juniors. And totally relevant is the fact that he unfriended me on Facebook.

As a potential source--why not check a bunch of the Volleyball Solution videos Jim Stone did--or the Art of Coaching videos. They have different levels (other than NCAA D-1) of coaches--and it'd give you a chance to hear those coaches communicate. Some coaches may be great at winning, but have zero ability communicating to a larger, coaching audience.

Lingenfelter, Yoon Ha, Kordes LMAO, ok did Yoon pay you to say that? What we can get paid for posts?? Lol, no. I have known these 3 coaches for years and have a lot of respect for their technical knowledge of the game.
