Peoples obsession with Nebraska is border line insane. I don't agree with everything Cook does, but come on. WHO WOULDNT enjoy their time at nebraska if they stayed for four years. You have some people who its not a fit and they transfer, but kayla obviously loved her stay, the fans, the atmosphere, the coaching staff, or else she wouldn't have been there for four years. And she could of easily ytrrasnfered to any big school and get a scholarship.
Im glad Kayla, Larson and Robinson are having so much success, and I'm glad they loved their time at nebraska.

it's not so mysterious that tall strong athletes lack subtle skills like controlling a bump set under duress If they make it a strong part of their game through practice, they can do it. It really shouldn't be that hard to bump set a good ball to the pins. Plenty of tall players can do it. Just calming down and thinking and feeling what your body is doing, and focusing on how to get the desired result. When I would make a mistake bump setting I would think about what I was doing with my body mechanics that caused the mistake right after and then make sure I tried not to do it next time. But i'm more used to it cuz I like playing doubles.

And for the record, I've been very impressed with Lowe this tournament. She's adapted to the fast offense a lot more easily than I thought she would. Excited to see her grow. Busto got REALLY lucky. UCLA ran a very fast ball to Karsta during her senior year. I think there was very little adjustment to the USA tempo for her.

Curious to see how Lowe does against Brazil when Fabiana and Thaisa are back.

I wonder what Karsta's hitting percentage was on her crossing plays. Seemed like she got a kill pretty much every single time she came out of the middle this week.

This was the best seven minutes of my day. Guess that doesn't really say much about my day. But Karsta is pretty good.

USA is running it considerably faster. It seems like everything about Team USA gets reduced (for blame or credit) to the "fast offense" instead of all the other factors that contribute to what goes on in a match. I don't buy that whether Lowe would be able to adjust to the tempo of USA's offense was a serious concern. It's not THAT much faster, she's always thrived in opportunities to hit with tempo, and definitely has the attributes (quick arm, high contact point, quick approach) to succeed with it. The question marks about Lowe wouldn't have been adjusting to speed, they would have been with whether her ancillary skills (defense, block, serve) were prohibitively weak for her to stay on court, or whether more disciplined block-defenses would clamp down on her favorite shots. What we actually saw was a bit of a the same effect that Sander benefitted from in his rookie season with the men last year, where significant improvement in setting and availability of other offensive options offset the increased difficulty of playing at a higher level.

Well said. If agree with this.
