Do we know what the infractions were? you'd probably have to call the Northridge AD to get that info - good luck on that one.

The CSUN athletics web site is taking the fifth on the forfeitures. Perhaps on the advice of counsel?

So if CSUN forfeited eighteen matches from last season, why didn't those become losses instead of just reducing the number of wins? The conference notes stated that their overall record will drop from 19-9 to 1-9. If they forfeited those wins, why wouldn't their record become 1-28? Not wishing this for them, of course, I just don't understand the math. What a tough break. I think Stork has been doing a terrific job there.

The only player I see missing from the roster is Danetta Boykin. That's a bummer considering she was the third best hitter on the team. Now CSUN loses four of the top five kill leaders from last season. it looks like steffi miller is also missing from the roster. i remember that miller was injured part of last year, and they have lauren conati returning, plus it looks like a transfer from santa barbara cc as the second setter on the roster. boykin is a big loss, as others have mentioned. she was such an explosive attacker and server.

It's not much of a "story." It's only two sentences. We want details!

Well I wont be calling the AD to find out what the infractions were. I don't know the reasons or if it was due to player. Boykins had an issue when she was suppose to go to a school in the mid west but didn't go and ended up stayed in CA to play. I just don't remember what it was...so long ago. But CSUN has been really moving up in the last few years. Stork is a good coach and he has been picking up good recruits each year. Could all of this have effective the other teams getting a bid to last year's tournament?

Had the victories been discounted before last years tournament seleciton, it might have hampered Hawaii's RPI, don't think it would have prevented them from getting in the tourny

That post on Cindy's blog by Nasti on Cindy's misspelling of bigwest.org to biggest.org was the funniest thing I read in a long time. I laughed until tears flowed.
To be fair to Cindy, when I spelled "bigwest.org," my spell checker automatically changed it to "biggest.org"

Stork is an excellent Coach. He knows his stuff, has an eye for opponents' weaknesses and was one of the best setters in USA history. In recent seasons, I was impressed with the players he has recruited.

That means they subtract the wins from CSUN's record and subtract the losses from the opponent's record. No team gets the win. It's like the match didn't count but the players retain their stats from the match. Plus that also means officially Cal Poly finished ahead of CSUN in the standings last season. Jake must be going crazy. And Crosson's winning percentage went up. Instead of being 4-12 in conference last season he's now officially 4-10.

Miller was out for two of their conference wins - so it wasn't her. Sato also only missed one of their conference wins - but Boykin appears to be most likely issue.
