It is very weak, but Cole Pender is the best player but he's a freshman! Maybe Adam Parks?

I'm not saying it's not strong, I've barely watched any of it I'm just saying what I've heard from other people, I'm also asking who good players in that age group are to watch for the future

Congrats to Balboa 14 for taking gold. No team scored over 23 points on them. No team won any sets on them. Congrats to MVVC 14 for earning the silver SCVC and Santa Monica 14 Premier for earning the bronze. SCVC came in with the 4 seed and won all their matches until they ran into Balboa in the semis.

Going into 16s Gold Bracket
Will teams that have performed well early on have any gas left in their tank for the gold bracket?
6 of top 8 original seeds are in it. MB Surf and Torrimar held their seeds throughout SASVBC bounced around but ended back at their original seed. The others bounced to different seeds.
Quick run down before the bracket begins on Thursday
SASVBC(8) vs Torrimar (1) - Should be a good match. Torrimar hasn't played any of the original top 9 seeds or any teams in the gold bracket, so they haven't been tested and have cruised to an 8-0 record. They are quick team. SASVBC has played 3 of the 8 teams in the gold bracket. They beat VAQUEROS and lost to HBC and 949. This match will be a match of size vs speed. SASVBC size may give Torrimar trouble. It will, at least, test them.
Pali (5) vs VAQUEROS (4) - Two teams on the smaller size. If SASVBC can get past Torrimar, SASVBC will have a size advantage on both these teams. VAQUEROS (7-1) played SASVBC and SASVBC won that match. Pali (8-0) came in as a 12 seed. They have played one team, Durham, in the gold bracket and won that match in 3.
949 (6) vs HBC (3) - 949 (8-0) came in with a 9 seed and have played and beaten gold bracket teams Durham and SASVBC. HBC (7-1) played and beat SASVBC in 3. HBC beat 949 at the SCVA Invitational and the SCVA Junior Boys Classic and at the 2014 BJNC. HBC has been able to get in 949's head in the past and 949 does not play to their capability. Will 949 be able to get past HBC this time?
MB Surf (2) vs Durham (7) - MB Surf (8-0) has already played Durham (6-4). MB Surf won the SCVA Invitational and the SCVA Junior Boys Classic and had the most SCVA points for a 15s team over the season. MB Surf came in with the 2 seed and kept it. Durham came in with the 5 seed. Durham has played 6 matches where they went 3 games. They also had to play an extra 2 matches in the challenge bracket. They have played a lot of volleyball in the past 3 days.

17s LIVBC and SCVC struggled in their first match. Probably a case of nerves. Surprised that SG Elite got knocked out of gold contention the first day No other big surprises - unlike the 18s
Interesting pools for Friday PAC RIM 17 vs 949 17 Coastal 17 vs Balboa 17

For those in attendance: Thoughts on the venue?

MB surf 15 won in three and 949 15 won in two. Two undefeafed teams meet in semis. It is a semi rematch from the semi of the scva junior boys classic. MB surf 15 won in 3 in that match, which was the best 15 match i saw all year.
Torrimar 15 stays undefeated beating sasvbc 26 24, 25 23. Pali 15 stays undefeated too.
all four semi teams are undefeated.

For those in attendance: Thoughts on the venue? Overall pretty nice place, championship courts looks nice, vending inside the building is overpriced but then again when isn't it? The surrounding area has alot of food options all within walking distance.

Day 2 17's: Three #1 seeds lose their first matches. HBC, Pac Rim and San Juan. Pool #2 is killer with SCVC, UNO, Preva and Ultimate.

Just watched HBC 17s play for the first time. Had heard and read about the poor sportsmanship of this club as a whole. What an embarrassment to volleyball and USAV to allow this kind of behavior to go unsanctioned.

Seaside knocked out by SPRI 2's, SPRI has two teams advancing to the gold bracket Anyone know if a club has ever had two teams in the gold bracket of the open division before?

yes Balboa once for 1st and 3rd. Tony Ciarelli was on the 2s team for a bad attitude.
