The U.S.-Russia match makes me very nervous. Every time we play Russia I feel like it could go either way I think if we take the first 2 from Russia, we take it in 3. Russia always seem to get in a slump when they start making errors and get defeated. I also think our floor defense is much better than Russia. My only concern will be if the Russian teams puts up good blocking.

There was real embarrassing moment during the match when the Serbian coach just screamed at the players. If the coach is not happy w/ certain players, take them out. People in the gym could hear it because it was loud and obnoxious. I believe it happened in set 4 when Russia was closing the gap. The atmosphere changed after that incident. I hate a hole coaches. International coaches seem to scream and yell anytime they want. Some of them get physical with players.

Russia will be tough to stop. Against the US, it is difficult to tell who will win. Russia just got an upgrade with Kosheleva back... plus a much much improved Shcherban.

So Russia loses and nobody cares? Serbia is looking tough. USA now in first place, from what i understand. Boskovic is making a name for herself, at 18. Maybe the best player of the tournament so far..or one of the top.

Odd that Hill is ranked 8th among the receivers. I wonder what metric they're using? Serving at #11 playing only 3+ matches I can see...If she can ramp up her late WC form from 2014 USA should be well positioned for the gold with a solid MVP chance for Lowe putting Karch very close to the rare Quad 4 gold achievement in his first go around as a coach.
Building his legend in spite of himself with his hive mind approach to the team and his Chip Kelly-ish sense of his own genius.

It seems that there is an ongoing controversy over whether points or wins is the first decider of the championship has anyone divined the truth The 5 criteria in order of import: match points, numbers of matches won, match points, numbers of matches won, sets ratio (the total number of sets won divided by the total number of sets lost), points ratio, direct confrontation.

Also, if anyone can answer, why is USA one point above the rest. Russia lost to Serbia 2-3, like USA did, so what's the point for ?

Russia had a 5 set win against Japan, earning two points. All of USA's wins were 3 point wins.

It seems that there is an ongoing controversy over whether points or wins is the first decider of the championship has anyone divined the truth The 5 criteria in order of import: match points, numbers of matches won, sets ratio (the total number of sets won divided by the total number of sets lost), points ratio, direct confrontation. You have the order of the first two reversed: worldcup.2015.women.fivb.com/en/competition/PoolRankingCriteriaIn order to establish the ranking of teams, the following criteria shall be implemented. 1. Number of victories The teams will be classified in descending order by the number of matches won. 2. Ranking Points In case of equality in number of matches won the ranking points will be considered. Results Winners Losers 3-0 3 pts 0 pts 3-1 3 pts 0 pts 3-2 2 pts 1 pts 3. Set ratio In the case of equality in the number of matches won by two or several teams, they will be classified in descending order by the quotient resulting from the division of the number of all sets won by the number of all sets lost. 4. Points ratio If the tie persists as per the set ratio, the teams will be classified in descending order by the result of dividing all points scored by the total of points lost during all sets 5. Still tied? If the tie continues as per the point ratio between two teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the last match between them. When the tie in points ratio is between three or more teams, a new classification of these teams in the terms of points 1, 2 and 3 will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.
