Remember end of last season when Ross said he wouldn't trade Micha for any other setter in the land, but next season would be different. (ouch) He also said that when Glass and Hodge left. Seemed to work out just fine in 2010. RR that old dog, so Machiavellian. who did he say he'd trade them for? (he was talking about Carlini with the setters)

I've never seen Weiskircher play--if we're assuming she'll be the PSU setter. But she does have some experience setting some of PSU's hitters at the club-level, right? Might that help her with the transition? Remember end of last season when Ross said he wouldn't trade Micha for any other setter in the land, but next season would be different. (ouch) You got that quote from Karch during the finals. To quote on Karch on what RR said: "This year, I wouldn't trade Micha for any other setter. But next year, I would take Carlini." Who wouldn't take Carlini?

It should be obvious to all that use of the term “great queen” is universally always intended as a pejorative reference to an older gay man from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who sleeps in lion fuzzy PJs. Hurt that RR was target of this slang.

I totally believe that the setter will be the liability for the season. Now of course, that is relative to having incredible players, but nonetheless, their setting along with probably libero, will be the the weakest part of their play. Thank you for stating the obvious. Of course every team has their weakest part and it often is with freshmen playing and adjusting to the speed of the game. I realize you could be 100% right and PSU still repeats again. I don't expect Bryanna to even come close to matching Micha's stats but I think PSU's overall serving effectiveness will not drop off. I won't be surprised to see a very solid back row defense either. Did you just accuse someone of "stating the obvious"That actually is hysterical. Besides Hancock, they also lost Grant who may have been their second best server.

So there's easily about 10 teams who could possibly win it all... making it even more difficult, does anyone have a chance of going undefeated? It's got to be an incredibly difficult task in the BIG10, with all the competition. Maybe Stanford?

It's got to be an incredibly difficult task in the BIG10, with all the competition. Maybe Stanford? Well Stanford does play Penn State so we don't know the outcome. Maybe Florida ? They probably will roll through SEC. But they also have a tough early season schedule (Oregon, Texas, Hawaii).

Every top team in 2015 has some warts. That being said, I believe the tournament bracket / seeding this year may have the biggest influence on reaching the final 4. This year could be wide open, or PSU could get favorable draw in a year when they need it and RR works his magic in final 4 and they win again (blah!).
Usual suspects:
PSU - replacing Hancock and Gonzales will be hard. Nebraska - should be better than last year, needs to improve mental toughness and match adversity. Wisconsin - new hitters, but they have Carlini Texas - new pin hitters, and someone has mentioned passing before Stanford - 2015 should have been their year.....now Inkyless Florida - not sold on setting, replacing back row
Possible suspects:
Oregon - will incoming talent get them to next level FSU - seems like always has one piece missing UNC - can they repeat last year again in open field Illinois - have the talent, but inconsistent

My birthday is a couple of days away and Bik always sends me a birthday greeting here on volleytalk. Well Happy Birthday!
Maybe you will mellow on Texas as you age.......
