BiK has been notified that he has been banned for a week for violating our code of conduct, including but not limited to excessive use of a word that some of you may find offensive. Please be respectful of fellow members before posting comments that others may find inflammatory. The Rick Butler thread is not for the faint of heart.

These two clubs have FF caliber talent, it would be great if they get there. Not sure they have FF talent AND experience. Both teams are pretty young. Oregon has Bettendorf. Illinois has Birks.... Not sure the other hitters are at the caliber of competing in the FF yet.

Not sure they have FF talent AND experience. Texas has both and look what they have not done in recent Years by not winning it all. I guess you have not gained wisdom with age!

This is not fair. My birthday is a couple of days away and Bik always sends me a birthday greeting here on volleytalk. Well Happy Birthday!
Maybe you will mellow on Texas as you age.......
Thanks for the wonderful birthday wishes, but.................Texas is still Texas

Talk about doing less with more; not being able to get Texas to the Final Four all those years he had home court advantage in Regional Finals. But, he has also duplicated those failures at USC several times.

BiK was asked numerous times not to insult others by using a term that he has used extensively over the years. He continued to use this description multiple times on this thread alone. We recently received a complaint from another member and warned him again that we would take disciplinary action if he proceeded to disregard our warnings. He continued to use the term freely and responded to our messages by calling us "dimwitted tallywackerheads" so we suspended him for a week.

Thank you for stating the obvious. Of course every team has their weakest part and it often is with freshmen playing and adjusting to the speed of the game. I realize you could be 100% right and PSU still repeats again. I don't expect Bryanna to even come close to matching Micha's stats but I think PSU's overall serving effectiveness will not drop off. I won't be surprised to see a very solid back row defense either. Did you just accuse someone of "stating the obvious"That actually is hysterical. Besides Hancock, they also lost Grant who may have been their second best server. Funny, Lainy Pierce was a much better server than Grant but just didn't have as many opportunities. My source tells me that the serving is going to be much better this year but I will wait until I see it before I am totally convinced.

I don't care if everyone on the team jump serves, they will not be better at serving without Micha. Maybe they'll get more balls in, and have a better Ace to error ratio, but no one will strike fear into opponents like Micha did, ever.

My list of teams that FSU ACTUALLY needs to beat was PSU, Big 10 #2, Stanford, Pac-12 #2, and Texas. When did FSU beat one of those teams? As for FSU beating Nebraska, Florida et al. me listing them isn't necessarily comparing apples and apples to FSU. For example, is FSU hosting the final four? No, but Nebraska is, which is a huge HCA. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. And yes, any team can get "hot", but getting "hot" is not the same as being a "legit" contender. Even a "hot" BYU couldn't win two matches in a row against the top 5. In the last 10 years there has been only 1 winner who was a "hot" "surprise" team and that was UCLA. And they had a better team than FSU. Nebraska's final four HCA advantage is more like a HishCA advantage. It's in Omaha, not Lincoln. I know you have been around the game long enough to know better. sure Lincoln is MORE of a HCA for Nebraska, but Omaha is where a lot of magic happens for them damn huskers too. Whether it be an intangible electric crowd to spur an under talented Nebraska team to take 2 sets off the best team in the history of NCAA volleyball or paying refs to call phantom lifts that prevents UCLA from going up 2-0 The huskers play with a pretty big advantage in Omaha.

The officials were hired by the NCAA. If that was an attempt at a joke, it wasnt funny. If it was serious, it's pathetic.

Not bad in Seattle either.
