I'd like to see what Nia Reed has to offer, too.

Freshman Holcombe appears to have taken Lacey Fuller's spot at the starting DS. So two freshmen contributed in this match. I don't think Gorrell or Novakovic played. It seems like PSU did not play a crisp game, which is expected for a season opener with many new faces. Since Rivera and Holcombe played some key points, I hope Gorrell and Novakovic gets some chance to get their feet wet tomorrow. Holcomb played libero for two of the three sets tonight. Rivera started the first set but Weiskircher played more in the match. Gorrell and L Pierce were on the bench but not dressed to play.

PSU and its usual cupcake preseason... It's certainly been working for them... Will you be talking about their cupcake preseason next weekend when they are playing Colorado and Stanford? Or perhaps you'd like to talk about Hawaii's cupcake conference season. Oh my did I touch a nerve.. Scrub!!! I thought I was actually giving PSU a compliment idiot!!!

Laura Broerman is out for the season due to injury, so she will be a part of every broadcast this season. She did well -- better than some of those mope commentators on BTN.

damn hawaii hasn't even played a game yet and the usual "cupcake conference" BS is coming up lmao. are we going to continue to beat down on a horse that's been dead for 20+ years? it just boggles my mind why people laugh at something which dave and company has absolutely no control over haha Look at who some of the other top teams are playing this weekend - Grand Canyon at Nebraska? Radford at WSU - who they lost to. But it is PSU that continuously takes the brunt of the criticism. Soft preseason. Soft post season. Gee, only 6 NCs in the past 8 seasons. You are right that soft schedule really kept them from going 8 for 8. Get back to us when Hawaii makes noise on the national scene. The crap you spout is what is getting old. hawaii has done pretty amazing with the limited talent we get. u tell russ to win a national championship without top 10 recruits year in and year out... one would EXPECT 6 titles out of the last 8 years with the type of recruits he gets. so when we are on an even playing field then let's talk...

Now you are asking PSU not to recruit best players possible just so the talent matches up with Hawaii? Are you serious?

Actually, the playing field is the same, tell Dave to recruit better then Hawaii can talk. It isn't really level. It should be much easier to recruit to the tropical paradise of Hawaii than the cold, snowy mountains of central Pennsyltucky.

I'm not upset at the fact that hawaii hasn't won't a national title but I'm impressed that they've been able to hold their own year in year out when recruiting has been 10x more difficult then it was 10 years ago for na wahine. okay I'm moving my @$$ out of this thread...

Quite surprised about Libero...
But, lots of time left for Russ to play with the rotation and lineup. We'll see if Holcombe is playing there in a few weeks.
