I wish we ended the season with playing the Horns in Gainesville, instead of LIU Brooklyn -__-

Good match, Nebraska showed a lot heart. Happy to have Ebony she's a beast. and that is why winning recruiting battles translates into winning matches. If she went to Nebraska or at least not Texas this match has a different outcome.

Even though this went to a 5th set, Nebraska really had no business hanging in this match. I thought Nebraska had the weapons and were overdue for a Final 4 run, but its clear they lack the leadership and physicality necessary at this point. Nebraska lost to the #3 team on their court...in 5 sets. Our most physical middle is out with a minor injury, and I don't think anyone on Nebraska's team expected Ebony to start tonight. Given that this is the second weekend of the season, I think Nebraska did some really nice things tonight, especially running the middles so well in the first two sets. Just gotta clean up the handfuls of service errors and step up the blocking. Good preparation for the B1G, for sure!

Coach Cook went with the newbies at the pins. I guess that is their reward for all their hard work. I still would of started Amber at OPP, and Kelsey at OH for this match, and worked the newbies in. Mikaela hit .062 with 1 block assist, and Annika hit -.150 with 0 blocks. But both should have a great season forward.

I watched the match live and didn't follow this thread and am not going back to read but I'm assuming this "back injury" stuff was total bogus BS on Elliot's part in an attempt to throw off NU's prep for the match or the most amazing recovery and work by UT's PT department ever. She was amazing, Huskers continue to lose major recruiting battles.

Texas has Nebraska's number 8 wins in the last 9 if I'm not mistaken. Great respect for big red though. Texas is a different team with ebony on the court .

Did you see some of the defensive plays Nebraska was making? Nebraska was hanging in for a very good reason, and when it mattered most in set 4, our top OH came through with some huge kills. Nebraska has the weapons, the physicality, and the leadership this year. The only weak spot in Nebraska's offense, right now, seems to be Foecke. But I still like Foecke a lot, because of the power she brings--and I even like the leadership she seems to bring. Other than that, you've gotta like Kadie and Fien at OH-- a very strong pair. Action from the middles was great, as well, from both Haggerty and Hall, who basically won set 2 for us single-handedly. The major problem tonight was getting around Texas' block, which forced way too many errors. I think if Fien had started the match, things would've played out differently.

I think Paulina is a liability Agreed. Aside from those 2 timely blocks, she really doesn't contribute anything to the left pin. Jerritt's wasting live-game opportunities to develop Yaazie.
