Not sure what is so interesting, UNC is a really athletic team. Interesting that he takes the honest approach and just says it. Not all coaches take that tack in interviews. UW coaches love to point out other teams are more athletic.

Yes...they do tend to do that. It's the underdog thing, I guess. The vball team doesn't seem so unathletic these days though. I'm not sure how long that line will hold up in their case.

ok as I have said before don't banish me from the habitation of badgerdom...
when y'all talk about poor execution off the bump set from Morey, you do realize that you cannot attack if the libero makes an over head pass (set) in front of the 10 line. yes? no?

Oh....right. Never thought about where she was standing. See, we're not used to it either after three years! I think she can provided the ball isn't above the net when the attacker hits it, which in order for it be successful, it would probably have to be. If anything now you get extra lives....not banishment!

The few times she bumped set this match, well, i'm not sure.

well I may be way off my rocker but you cannot make an attack if the libero makes an overhead pass in the front zone. I believe in the front zone includes even 1 foot or partial.

I saw Morey in high school set 2nd contacts (she was playing oh)and she had very good control and placement, but you cannot underhand pass anywhere as accurate as you can with an overhead pass

Here's an interesting old discussion of what I was trying to say. For practical purposes (that is, if you actually want the hitter to attack), you are correct. volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/16313

Most of the chances to set she was getting were behind the 10' line, though, and she was bump setting those as well, which seems a very low percentage play. LC either needed to pop the ball up higher so she could get under it, or she needed to move to position quicker. Or some combo of the two.

I noticed that Bates got 4 assists in this match, as many as Morey. A second option?
I didn't see where they came from though.

And who did she set to? Gillis? Maybe Rainbow will clear it up for us.

Yeah...without seeing the match, I can't tell if those were just broken plays.
Was interesting that Sheff was rotating Kriskova and Duello. That I did not expect to see. You get the sense he essentially bringing both of them along as they adapt to their different challenges.

Carlini, what a work ethic (and the receiving player..Robbins? Kriskova? Not moving...)

Whoever the receiver is had to move her hands an inch or two on the second set...room for improvement!
The bazinga is implicit...
