The bazinga is implicit... Oh, so when you said were a scientist I didn't realize you were Sheldon Cooper. I shoulda figured it out, being from Texas and all! ;-) I thought Friday night was laundry night, not volleyball night, for Dr. Cooper.

I am happy that the Badgers got a big win over a ranked team. I hope it helps them build confidence going forward, especially given that they weren't at the top of their game, at least early in the match.

Whoever the receiver is had to move her hands an inch or two on the second set...room for improvement! haha. if you listen to the audio, you can hear her frustration with that inch.

And who did she set to? Gillis? Maybe Rainbow will clear it up for us. Most of the time, Morey's OOS sets went to one of the OHs. I'm not nearly as concerned with the OOS bump-sets from last night. The biggest opportunities that I witnessed were using the block well (improved over the course of the game) and passing. The passes were decent, and did improve over the course of the game, but all of our primary passers were putting the ball a little far off the net too often. LC did most of her work from the 10 foot line.

Morely bump set to Gillis, who's blocked 10-3 i'm not sure how i feel about these bump sets. Well based on that outcome, they stink. Libero setting second ball is how every other team in the country plays, except those with a true 6-2, and even then doesn't happen often you have Thomas who passes, good setter, great attacker. This is the way it is going to be for this team so you might as well sit back and enjoy!

Those bump sets are moon balls. Blockers camped, hitters stuffed. That's concerning, don't you think?

I think it's something she can work on.

Noticed it a bit more coming from A-Mac, but everybody did it some. As far as targeting, if they were targeting anyone in serve receive, it was Gillis.

UNC is the best team in the country with such a bad record to start the season. 1-3 but all losses to rank teams they are tough just need to work out the kinks before conference season. UNC is not a top 20 team. Way over-rated.

As far as targeting, if they were targeting anyone in serve receive, it was Gillis. Noticed that last week. It is because several posters said her passing needed work. We need to stop giving out trade secrets, or maybe create new ones. Psst, please target Morey...yeah Morey...she's weak on serve receive. Ok, got it Louisville? Thats #6. The libero...;-)

ok as I have said before don't banish me from the habitation of badgerdom... when y'all talk about poor execution off the bump set from Morey, you do realize that you cannot attack if the libero makes an over head pass (set) in front of the 10 line. yes? no? Oh....right. Never thought about where she was standing. See, we're not used to it either after three years! I think she can provided the ball isn't above the net when the attacker hits it, which in order for it be successful, it would probably have to be. .......................

It'a worth pointing out to those who are concerned that Tay might be a bit rusty on the second contact because she hasn't had to have that responsibility in all the time she's been at Wisconsin. Compare her to someone like Justine Wong-Orantes, who has been taking second contact all along, and who also plays sand, where most sets are bump sets.
Tay will improve at this. It will be fine.
