Projected Top 12 in 16 Open Hawaii: SASVBC 16s Boys Outrigger 16 Southern California: MB SURF NIKE 16's 949 16 Black-M-KP The HBC 16 Black Pali 16 Nike Northern California: MVVC 16 Red (16-1) Midwest: Ultimate B16 Gold HPSTL B16 Royal East Coast: LIVBC 16 National Ocean Bay 16 Quiksilver Puerto Rico: Torrimar 16u A masc Others: VAQUEROS 16-1 Durham Attack Black Venom HVA 161 PERFORMANCE Seaside 16 Black MVC B16-KYLE Even though they didn't have a 15s team last year, Balboa will be up there. Can't count out a Rich Polk coached team. Pretty good list here though.

who are gonna be the top 16s (teams and players) from each region this year Projected Top 12 in 16 Open Hawaii: SASVBC 16s Boys Outrigger 16 Southern California: MB SURF NIKE 16's 949 16 Black-M-KP The HBC 16 Black Pali 16 Nike Northern California: MVVC 16 Red (16-1) Midwest: Ultimate B16 Gold HPSTL B16 Royal East Coast: LIVBC 16 National Ocean Bay 16 Quiksilver Puerto Rico: Torrimar 16u A masc Others: VAQUEROS 16-1 Durham Attack Black Venom HVA 161 PERFORMANCE Seaside 16 Black MVC B16-KYLE I think Southport 16s should be included in this list especially in the midwest. They took 10th in Open this past summer placing higher than any team in the midwest including MVC, HPSTL, and Ultimate. They also beat Durham Attack Black Venom,LIVBC, and Roch Pace bootlegger at Nationals. Technically they were the best team in the Continental United States (excluding California).

He's not that great of a player. Don't think that Ultimate 17's will improve much at all from last season. They did get 5th at the Cali qualifier last year. They have the potential True, but your team's overall skill is based more on where you finished than where you started and they ended up finishing terribly at nationals. The team never really developed since the beginning of the year. They did start strong, but didn't end strong and I don't think they will be much of a factor this year.

Sure, Southport got 10th in 15 Open, but they went 5-7 with a dismal point ratio of 0.8217. They put up no fight against top teams (Torrimar - 25-13, 25-8, SASVBC - 25-9, 25-18). Sure, they do have their lefty oppo with the afro coming back from a knee injury, but I don't think they will be a contender this year.

According to some rumors going around LIVBC 16's are gaining Paolo Samin a really good outside who made A1 select 2 years ago and played for Panther last club season... Anyone know if this is true? I have heard the same thing from a few different people. Paolo played for Panther for several years but the team around him isn't as strong as the LIVBC 16's. However I also heard that LIVBC won't necessarily be the power player at 16's that is was at 15's because some local high school coaches started their own club and pulled some of the talent away from LIVBC. Last HP season he played beach instead of indoor.

Luckily for them, only one player from that team moved to that club there very good libero. Other than that the team is remaining the same and adding 3 new players to their roster. With Paolo, and their already powerful team, they should be the heaving east coast favorite.

I don't think Southport can keep up with these other teams, they have no dominant players on the court. And even in their own state, they never beat MVC head to head. What about that one Sports Performance team? didnt they get like 2nd or something in club i think last year in nationals? it was a pretty solid though are they gonna be good this year?

Yea pretty sure that was their 16s ones team last year, so their 17s this year. However, they are "losing" their top outside as he's playing up with 18s (at least according to what the other ppl on this forum say).

Did anyone see rockstar 15's last year not a great team but I remember being fairly impressed with one of their setters not sure which one. Did anybody see a decent setter playing for them who can maybe name him. I saw them play a bit and you must be thinking of a different team. Their setters were very average at best. I believe they have the same two setters back this year, so they did not upgrade that position. Unless they upgraded some of the other positions, they will have a tough time competing in the 16s division. Based on what I have heard (both from other posts and speaking to a number of parents), these 16s teams will be strong... 949 has their core team back and will be very good. MB Surf has their entire starting group back with the exception of their middles. Their one good middle is moving to OH which makes them deeper at that position. They picked up two very good Loyola middles. They also added a very good setter from Loyola. They may be the team to beat since they are strong at all positions now with depth. Pali also has their core team back and they surprised a lot of people last year playing well at the end of the season. Balboa Bay may be the sleeper. They did not have a 15s team until late in the season and supposedly has assembled a team that will be very competitive. Baja will probably have a competitive 16s team, they always do. I have not heard much about the Seaside team, they were good, but need to get some upgrades in order to deal with the stronger teams above. It will be interesting to see what happens since the season starts this weekend.

They won open last year and its pretty much the same team i think.

Although 949 will be really competitive, I think MB Surf has a slight edge because of their defense and middles. Jaxon Drake (new addition to the team, from Loyola HS) is arguably the top middle in the class of 2018. Plus Max Cajuste has a slight edge over McSweeney and Browning IMO. And don't forget about Ethan Talley, their 6'6 middle from last year who is going to play outside. And by the way in case you're wondering, Seaside 16 Black: www.sdvbc.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=580&Itemid=530
