After watching the Minnesota and Wisconsin matches against PSU, I like Nebraska’s chances of beating them in 4.
The Gophers outhit and outblocked the Nittany Lions, which had problems slowing down the Tapp sisters, Santana and even Goehner, who all had double-digit kill performances and hit better than .240. The Huskers should bring at least the same amount of heat from the left and middle, but unlike Minny, we also have a reliable terminator on the right side in Kadie Rolfzen. If PSU chooses to load up on our left side like they did against Minnesota, I think our middles and OPP will put on a clinic.

I think Penn State is a little ahead of Nebraska given that the Huskers were still tweaking their line-up until a few weeks ago. If the Rolfzens can play like they did last week then we will be competitive. Can't wait.

LOVE this conference match up! NE & PSU, in my opinion, have history of playing great ball when up against one another. I'll give this one to PSU, possibly the next to NE. Home court advantage, in my opinion, play a huge advantage. Looking forward to this one. Rolfzens have to be on point though, that's the X Factor. For PSU, OH's gotta produce. Whitney will be Whitney and Washington will be Washington.

Nebraska has won some tight ones vs PSU at home, PSU has been pretty dominant at their place. Not sure that Nebraska is that tough of a serving team, which I think doesnt give you a great chance vs PSU especially at their place.

I think these two teams split this year. I'll give this one to PSU in 4.

I see it is going to be televised (BTN). Hope the Huskers can pull it off, but they have to do better than they did Sat against Iowa. Not sure whether its their youth or lack of mental toughness, they just seem to check out sometimes. Great to see both Amber and Kadie coming into their own at the new spots..brings back nightmares of high school ball with the two of them blocking next to each other. Need Fien to be "on".

Last two against Minny and Wisconsin versus two games against Iowa for the Huskers. Should help PSU in adjusting to Nebraska's speed a bit more. I'm no coach - but my takeaways from PSU thus far are: 1. Bryanna should not be taking 7 kill attempts per match. She's hitting .164 (-.143 against Minny) and her attempts don't seem to be fooling anyone. 2/3 attempts per game is fine to keep the other team honest, but when you have the hitters PSU has, unless your name is Micha, don't take attempts away from them. 2. Don't be shy on giving it to Washington. I know it's important to dish the ball out so the block isn't overloaded on her, but she's hitting at an insane %. Give it to her until the other team shows they can stop her. 3. When Courtney hits with confidence, she has one of the hardest/fastest balls to defend in the country. I feel if the pass is not perfect, though, she gets a bit tentative and opts for the tip too quickly. Courtney stay confident. 4. Don't be shy to go to Lee. If one of your pins is having an off day, PSU has another stud on the bench. This is one of PSU's biggest advantages over most teams. Rose needs to recognize it and if a hitter is not terminating like they should, he should go to her sooner. And, if all else fails, see point 2.

I'm just a fan and doing exactly what a fan does - making arm-chair quarterback, un-informed observations. If you want to stop that, might as well shut down the board. And if that happens, I'm not the one who's going to be responsible for what happens to Boof.

Purely for aesthetic reasons. Thanks!

Agree with Fien needing to show up for NE. NE needs to be firing at all positions to beat PSU at home. I just do not see it happening.
