Where is the B10 network located? I'm curious... Chicago AWH, got it. that cuts costs greatly and makes production a lot easier...so....there's no reason not to do more! I'd love to see this same thing on Minnesota and Hugh, Nebraska and whomever their coach is, and other teams...

From what they said, they will be doing more of these in the future but they will not just be concentrating on Women's Volleyball but other sports as well.

I'm next to certain each institution has their own production studio where much of the Big Ten footage is filmed, produced on their own campus. This specific show had two crews, one at each school. It was an exceptional piece that had to cost a ton of money to produce.

I thought this was really well done and great for the sport. 2 things were interesting to me: 1) That the players on both teams had to cook their own dinner, in season. I thought most schools had "training table" where athletes eat catered meals together. I can't imagine having to deal with groceries and cooking on top of everything else (school, PT, etc) during the season. 2) That both teams flew charter planes. How do they have enough budget for that??

How do they have enough budget for that?? 1 - depends on each school and each sport. The "training table" is a bit more typical of football. The "training table" being catered is a bit of misnomer. Training tables typically are provided by campus dining service (although they get a little more and a little better), many of those dining services also provide catering on campus. A catered "training table" happens on the road or for pre-game meals at some schools. Most other sports players can choose to live off campus, and experience a taste of real life. It didn't look like any of them were horribly put-out by cooking with their teammates. 2 - only one team chartered in show - Wisky. PSU flew commercial to Tampa for their tournament at USF. They do charter, but not all of the time. Russ likes to keep his medallion status for those first class upgrades! The Power 5 football schools (which includes the BIG), budgets are enormous, and volleyball gets its fair share at most schools. Ultimately, how the team travels is on the head coach and their athletic administration.

Wisconsin spent $532K in 2014 Penn State spent $563K in 2014 Their Athletic departments are few of the riches in the USA, WI @ 126M and PSU @ 128M in 2014. They are both generating good profit, WI around 3M and PSU 10M. Just for comparison, Ohio St spent 137M with revenue of 171M in 2014
