Just saw about a third of this match, switching over at various times. Impressive play by the huskers. They seemed to be playing outstanding defense. Illinois not passing or working well in transition making it really hard to get swings consistently, especially on long points.
What else happened?

Illinois coaches and team appeared to be going through the motions. No passion.

Illinois is just not Illinois when Stadick and Bastianelli combine for 3 kills. And Crittenden had 3 kills and hit negative. Ugly night for the Illini.

Surprisingly, Nebraska's MBs lead the team in kills tonight, Amber with 12 and Cici with 9. Amber hit .750 for her second consecutive match, and Hunter was errorless on 6 kills, including a nice OOS swing.

Way to go Huskers; loved the rhythm & energy!! GO HUSKERS Yep, the Huskers did very very very good this evening. They looked comfortable out there and confident. So good to see the middles really make such an impact. The team all played very good all the way around. I do believe this was a down night for the Illini as I have seen them play much better. However, no doubt the opposition on the other side of the net is what will make you look good or bad. And those horrible service errors more or less stayed away. Annika needs to improve in that area. She gets her aces in but sometimes its with a price. The Husker will need to maintain this intensity with Penn st. next Saturday. Hope they can contain Washington and the other hot shot hitters on the Penn St side of the net. I really did enjoy this game this evening because this was the quality of play that I feel the Huskers are always capable of but at times can not put it together. GBR

Poulter actually got pulled in the third set. But I think a lot of the issue was the Illini pass against the Nebraska serve. Jordyn was running a lot to set the ball and the outsides weren't producing.

Illinois coaches and team appeared to be going through the motions. No passion. That's not close to what I saw at the match. Illinois has great effort but were simply overmatched by a team that was hitting on all cylinders.

Poulter actually got pulled in the third set. But I think a lot of the issue was the Illini pass against the Nebraska serve. Jordyn was running a lot to set the ball and the outsides weren't producing. If they would have started Vilunis in the third they might have had a chance to end it respectfully. I didn't see Poulter run any more then usual. I don't care what Poulters technical skills are and by that I mean I'm not discrediting her, but whatever it is vilunis brings he needs to continue if they don't want to embarrass themselves in the tournament. It's simple, they started to win with vilunis and they can't even come close with Poluter. I can't fault any of the hitters at this point when all of them hit .100 or below at the end of the second set. Stadick in negative ? I have to agree with whoever posted regarding that point. He can not play it cool like that point didn't matter, the fight starts with the top, if he's not passionate then they will follow. They would have reversed that call and maybe the momentum would have been different. The atmosphere is tough in here,I'll have to process this on my long trip home. With all that being said Nebraska did play well.

Hambly is a very classy coach. We don't agree on much, but on this point you are spot on.
