Honestly, it's really hard to judge where Nebraska is because Illinois was simply awful.

In 6 sets against Nebraska this season:
- Illinois was blocked 26 times.
- Illinois never hit better than .143 in a set.

Another tremendous effort and victory by the 'skers tonight! The team is clipping .327 and averaging 15.07 kills per set over the last four matches, and they seem to be getting better each and every match, which is great to see at this time of the year!
Amber has been unstoppable over the second half of the conference season, hitting an astounding .514 in the last nine matches (76 kills, 5 errors, 138 attempts) and leading the conference in blocks per set (1.55). With tonight's 12 errorless kills, she's hitting .584 over the past four matches with only one error (39 kills out of 65 attempts)!

Honestly, it's really hard to judge where Nebraska is because Illinois was simply awful. That's a legitimate argument. The same will probably be said after the Huskers beat PSU too.

Just finished watching the replay after getting home, and NET did a nice intermission segment over Justine, who ended the night with nine digs (six coming from the last set IIRC). After Nebraska's sweep in Champaign back in October, Hambly opined that Justine was the best libero in the conference and probably the country, which may be the reason why the Illini hitters were attacking away from her in the first two sets. #LiberoRespect

That means they already are the 2nd or 3rd best because beating PSU doesn't improve anyone's reputation right now.

Illinois is a good team, but not once beat a higher-ranked team this year. They were blown out in this match. I though they'd at least be competitive as they have been against many good teams this year. Weird year for them. Nebraska, OTOH, is really rounding into form. They've flown under radar a bit this season (at least as much as a program of NE's caliber can fly under radar) due to timely losses just as buzz may have been developing. Except for maybe a brief period here and there, hasn't widely been talked about in the group of contenders for the title. They probably should be. They're damn good.

Her play this season has been incredible and her impact at middle blocker has been, at least, as significant for Nebraska as Foecke's impact on the left or Wong-Orantes' impact at libero IMO. No way Nebraska has this kind of success this season unless she was able to step into the M1 position and be legitimate. Props to her and the Husker staff.
