In other news, right now I honestly see Nebraska beating Washington. They're peaking at the right time. You mean the team that went 0-3 against Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ohio State. Yeah, they beat Penn State twice, but who else? Sorry, I'm not buying the "big bad Huskers" myth. They're beatable. For Washington (or USC), anyone is beatable.

Wow, I come home from the UW match and see that Stanford lost?! And there are only 3 Pac teams left in the tournament?!!?
Crikey.

I was so surprised I called up the box score just to see if the NCAA had screwed up the bracket or something. It sure helped USC's odds of getting to the Final Four, at least according to pablo. Look who they have left: either Creighton or North Carolina, and then either Missouri Kansas or Loyola Marymount.

Still, it looks like USC is in a pretty good situation at this point.

How did the conference get so bad this year? Injuries to everyone but Washington and USC? And then teams who are just plain bad (Oregon)?

Clearly a weird night.
Stanford loses. Harvard (HARVARD!) took the first set off Nebraska. Hawaii was down 2-1 before eeking out a 5-set win over TCU. And on night 1, Cleveland State (Dude, Cleveland ain't a state) took a set off USC.
But the real story is the Pac12...they're stinking up the joint....down to 3 teams and UCLA and Washington haven't even played round 2 yet.

USC was strong tonight against SD. As long as they play their game and don't mess up, they're going to the Final Four.
I'm holding out hope for an Epic Washington, USC rematch. Bricio will be out for vengeance.

Bricio will be out for vengeance. Washington needs to get through the B1G gauntlet before getting to Southern Cal. Michigan State, Ohio State, then Nebraska.

Bricio will be out for vengeance. Washington needs to get through the B1G gauntlet before getting to Southern Cal. Michigan State, Ohio State, then Nebraska. This is true. getting through all three of those will not be easy. Washington looking strong, though. Schwann and Sybeldon compliment each other. USC also has possible matchups with UNC and Kansas. Not as hard of road as Washington has, but not a guaranteed trip to the final four just yet. But is it just me or is USC looking really complete? The setting - what many people said was USC's weakness - has gotten better. They have a great setter (pac honorable mention) in Johnson, and Pizza's sets have been better as of late. The defensive duo of Garick and Whittingham has been effective. Then finally offensive combo of Bricio, Ogoms, Ford, and Abercrombie is one of the best in the country. What are USC's weaknesses now? If USC still does have evident weaknesses they are certainly not gaping or hugely exploitable.

That was the most significant weakness during the match in Seattle IMHO. We know that she is going to be even more of a force as her full game progresses, but how far she has come will affect tournament success.
