Never count Hawai'i out! That's what makes Hawai'i a great program year in and year out. Someone special will emerge before our eyes to take over. My Longhorns will be scary good with the Frosh class coming in. Excited! Also, I think it's time for Shoji to retire. Get someone younger and fresh to take over, a new style, a new look, in my opinion. As long as the committee has its say, Hawaii will always be counted out. And that's a fact! True, but true Hawai'i fans will always believe. It's who we are. I just got to keep hoping, another National Championship will come back to the islands, just not telling when.

Honestly, Nikki Taylor was a surprise to me. I never thought she was much in her freshman year and her injury-riddled sophomore year. But she just blossomed and unleashed in her junior year, so perhaps there'll be another hidden gem among the incoming recruits -- or even someone like Castillo or Burns if they work their butt off. But I just don't see it today. Of course, I'm filled with emotion so I can't see much of anything right now.

I hope Kirsten Sibley become that "force" next season. I know she struggled this year but I think she has the tools. She jumps pretty well and hits fairly hard. With a year behind her and an offseason to get stronger…I hope she can be the second LS with Granato. Greeley never did hit a heavy ball even when she was healthy and with the shoulder problem ....I don't t think she ever will. Unless Skylar Williams comes in and dazzle the coaches....our LS will be either Granato ...Greeley...or Sibley.

The way I see it I think UH and the AD should invest more in the volleyball program. The football program is a lost cause really. We really need to attract better recruits and one way to do that would be to overhaul the whole system. How can UH make the women's program more appealing to top recruits? New facilities, better accommodations, more scholies, give them jacuzzi's and hot tubs in their dorm rooms with free unlimited cable with netflix, free Rainbow's and L&L Drive-in plate lunches? Please what does UH have to do?!!

Arden Misraje 6'2 OH/OPP I'm excited to see what more can this girl do, sooo much upside to her! I love her blocking style! Great arm swing.

Hawaii still has a lot of potential home talent, look at all those Hawaii high school players now in college Mau, Anae, Snuka and Kan still wonder why we didn't go after some.

I wonder if anyone from Hawaii has started showing interest in Elena Oglivie. I know Saige Kaahaina Torres(Iolani) signed with Mizzou, Kyra Hanawahine (KSK) w/ Oregon and Phoebe Grace(Kahuku) w/ Utah. Is there any other current high school talents from Hawaii we should be watching for ?? Any hidden Nikki Taylors? Lol

Probably did go after them but maybe they didn't get offered scholies and other schools did. If I had to choose a full ride or walking on, well that's a no brainer. There are only so many scholies to go around.

I just don't think Hawaii is ever going to be the program is was until the best players stay home. Imagine this Hawaii Team with Mau and Anae on the outside. Hopefully, Hawaii inks that standout Freshman from Iolani in the years to come. But I until the program hires another coach recruiting won't start to pick back up. Unfortunately, Dave's yearly treats of "this might be my last year" does not help his program.

May word on Nikki? I imagine they got her some x-rays after the match, and the team is probably on their way home now. Flying with a lower leg injury is no fun (and a blood clot risk).

Hate to beat a dead horse......and I know the accident to Nikki was not on purpose...... but would like to hear that there was some concern on the part of the Minnesota coach and player about how Nikki was...how sorry they were it happened, etc.
I too am very depressed and don't really care about the rest of the tournament. Can't believe how badly the year ended after all we went through in the beginning.....where did that bad karma come from!

That bad karma came form last seasons first round against TcU where tcu was winning, the. one of their senior outside hitters who was playing amazing fell and hurt her ankle. TCU team could not muster the fight. Hawaii went on to win the 5th. Huge Hawaii fan here but an hour before the MN and UH game i had this sinking feeling that Nikki would get hurt. Such a tough way to go and it's making me sick too. But we can all er through this!
