The following athletes in the WCC were invited to the USA tryouts:
Lindsey Calvin (Saint Mary's MB) Lauren Fuller (USD OH) Kristen Gengenbacher (USD Setter) Kelty Hori (LMU libero) Lauren Schad (USD MB)
Best of luck to all of these athletes!

Looks like Clare Powers (OH) has transferred from Saint Mary's to Penn State. Saint Mary's roster is pretty thin. Any idea if they are planning on bringing in a big class in the next couple of years?

USD just participated in a spring tournament last weekend with Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Baptist, USC, UNLV, and UCI. I believed they won all of the games that they played. They will participate in another tournament this weekend with UCI, UNLV, SDSU, and Arizona. Did anyone happen to see them play? Or will be seeing them play this weekend? I am curious to know who was playing because it sounds like they did pretty well. I believe BYU also participated in a tournament last weekend, and will also talk part in another tournament this weekend. Anyone seen them play? Pepperdine added 3 more players (Maddie Dilfer, Jaiden Farr, Ashley Harris) to their 2016 class in addition to the 4 players mention previously in the year. I think the most interesting addition is Ashley Harris from Arizona. www.pepperdinesports.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/040516aaa.html

LMU officially announces Tess Reid's commitment. www.lmulions.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/041416aab.htmlI believe that they have signed two setters (Prichard and Reid), a middle (Johnson), an outside (Slattery), and a couple of liberos (Hori and Hill). I am interested to see how they do next season. I don't know if anyone can replace the offense that Suaava and Mirabello provided this past season.

Is she moving from club volleyball at LMU to D1 top 25 volleyball?

I am assuming that she is joining the team because I don't know why else she would go to the tryouts then. She seems like a great libero.

Nice girl. Received no press from high school or club. Entered recruiting late. Thus, club volleyball at college. Hope it is works for her. Film and thread for her below. volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/55243/kelty-hori-2015-libero-ds

I don't know if anyone can replace the offense that Suaava and Mirabello provided this past season. I said the same thing about Keil and DeWitt. I guess I was way wrong since LMU was even better the next year. Suaava really came to life last season.

However, Mirabello and Suaava had started all of their matches the year in 2014, so its not like they didn't have any experience. This upcoming season we do not really have any experienced middles. We did have Kevorken but she was pretty error prone and got injured last year. I am hoping that someone steps up and is able to provide some good offense from the middle.

Utah beat BYU in three to take the win. Utah State and UVU were also strong. BYU used all three setters liberally, or I think they would have done better. They still block strong, but are looking for another hitter to replace Gray. Utah looked smooth and in sync for a spring tournament, they will be better than last year, and the future looks even better for them. Kirst is much improved, and Jorgensen ran the offense well. Anae is stronger and definitely better than last year. UVU was surprisingly physical and played excellent defense.
