With the UA All America match being played two days ago, I have to say I was very impressed with the talent of the 2016 class. This got me thinking, how does the 2017 class compare, and who are some of the top recruits? I think most would agree that Lexi Sun will likely be the top recruit of the class, but who are some other names people expect to be in the top 10? Obviously most of the 2017's who made the Youth National Team will be in the conversation, but who are some other noteworthy talents across the country? I expect prepvolleyball to release its top 50 recruits soon, but just wondering about what some other opinions are.

Sydney Hilley, Madison Lilley, Paige Hammons, Stephanie Semady, Brionne Butler, and Lexi Sun all made the YNT this past summer, and they look to be some of the top players.

Just from the incoming Huskers, I know McClellan and Sweet were two of the most highly coveted recruits at their positions (MB and RS, respectively) based on the schools that offered them. No idea what that means for rankings. Likely at least one will be top 10 and both top 15-20.
Maybe each fan base can shed some light on who they've offered or from whom they have received commitments.

Brionne Butler (MB) and Lexi Sun (OH) were on YNT and Ashley Shook (S) who started for SPVC as a sophomore was on the training team. Also bringing in Olivia Zelon, a libero who (from video) looks really solid
That's Texas in 2017. I figure the first 3 will all be top 10-15.

So much talent will be on the bench, wonder if a few of them will transfer.

Washington has Lauren Sanders, a 6'4" MB from Snohomish, WA, who was on the 20-member Youth National Training Team, but not on the final 12-member roster.

I know that Samedy plays both middle and opposite, where is the expected to play at Minnesota?

3 weeks away from the start of club competition here in the Midwest, so aside from just throwing last years names around it is hard to have much insight. Great Lakes Power League will have a 17/18 Elite flight of 32-40 teams which will showcase most '16 & '17 recruits.
Most intrigued to see the progress of Badger '17 Dana Rettke (6'8") who moved from MB to OH in High School & put up some big attack, serve & serve receive #s. Also Want to see how Grace Loberg (6'3" OH) rebounded from an illness shortened HS season.

Don't forget Mariah Whalen, Tawa has said in the past that her and Hilley could be the #1/2 recruits out of that class

I think Hilley will be top ten, but I don't see Whalen ranking that highly. Nice high school player, but I don't see her having quite enough size or athleticism to translate to the college game

I'd also throw in Chesney Mcllelan (Nebraska), Jenny Mosser (UCLA), and Brie Orr (Iowa).

I would like to see how Whalen's club play turns out, though.

Sorry if it seems like I was dissing Whalen, definitely wasn't my intention, all I was saying was I don't know if she has what it takes to merit a top 10 recruiting grade
