Why would Carmona stop playing volleyball?!? Bad blood with coach over not getting playing time ? Carmona spent much of this past volleyball season with her foot in a boot.

Why do people keep bringing up Carmona? Don't you think if she was lighting it up in practice the coaches would give her a shot? Clearly she isn't as talented as the perception is, otherwise she would have had a shot. She must be buried on the depth chart and now is pursuing track. All the best to her, but let's move on from that option as a starter.

I saw Izzy Carmona play as a freshman at Florida State. They came out here to play at a tournament at Long Beach State to start that season. She was a pretty good player. When she transferred, I thought it was a good move by UCLA. As a sophomore, she was stuck behind Karsta Lowe as her backup. I remember her coming in a couple of times (ironically subbed in with Megan Moeanoa (sp), who had her own issues with Sealy's goofy sub patterns). Izzy did well, but never really had enough time to make an impact. I remember seeing her at a game against Colorado at Pepperdine last year. She looked like she really got into amazing physical shape, compared to what she looked like as a freshman at FSU. In her very limited time in that game, and in warm ups, she showed great athleticism. I was enthusiastic about her for her Junior year. It was just weird to see her cemented on the bench the whole season, behind a lot of players who struggled. I think her injury issues came later in the season, but it was unfortunate that she never had a chance to ever see the court in the early non-league matches. I guess it became more of an issue considering Sealy's pattern of using some players in the past. Look what happened with Jessica Ngakamo. Never saw the court, then had the chance to play, contributed and did well. Always thought the same would happen to Izzy if she ever got a shot. She was hurt by the time conference was in the second round and now she is headed to track. I wish her the best and everyone can now move on.

Carmona did look pretty good when she was on the court . I dont think she transferred just to sit on the bench as she could still get playing time had she stays at FSU. UCLA will have plenty of option at the opposite position next year. Van Winden's cousin is killing it on the UCLA men team right now. I hope she can have the same first year impact as Micah did. She is taller too

can someone confirm UCLA has 9 commits for 2017? just received a setter commit today. the 9 are listed on rich kern. anyone with info on these commits as being legit would b helpful Some of those listed are sand only. Phair, Sanchez, McQuarrie. I'm guessing Crouch and Jacobs will be walk-ons.
