Most people listed are more recent players, but how can you leave out MIREYA LUIS...? who's more fun than her..?! Check out Melissa Vargas, who idolized Mireya growing up, she's just as intense.

Mireya Luis, because...damn.
Natalie Williams, maybe the best female athlete I've seen on a volleyball court.

Before i put any names down i think about 99% of the players i have met have been first class people For none minnesota players i will start with Kristen Folkl- we qualified for nationals with a bunch of small town girls and she was on our plane and probably knew everyone on the team by the time we got there. We were in 16's and our girls were shocked when she brought her incredible 18's team over to cheer us on! So cool Stacey Gordon! Just breath taking to watch her ability and drive to win
Minnesota players-probably has to be Lindsey vanderwell/ taatges coached her when she was 14 and and you could tell she was an amazing athlete and even better person. Always wondered how far she could have gone if that would have been her direction. So many others mia tabberson, paige and hannah tapp, daly santana, katherine harms, just to name a few

I've really always loved Kristy Jaeckel. I got to UF and started playing volleyball during her time with the Gators. She wasn't the best OH ever, but I loved her attitude and fire on the court. She really was the emotion behind the Gator team during her time at UF. Learned how to jump serve by watching her too haha.
At the higher levels... I'm currently loving Poljak. Don't know much about her, but I love watching her play. Such a phenomenal blocker!

Since I started following full-time in late 2012, it's been Micha Hancock. She had this streak of nasty, which took VB to another level for me. A quote from coach John Cook, which I found here, might help put things into perspective. To me in never seemed like there was any love lost between Hancock and Carlini. I know who I'd choose every day of the week and twice on Sunday; but that's just my opinion.

Definitely Mireya Luis, because- just… WOW! Also Yoshie Take%*$#a. Watching her was like seeing Yoda pull out his lightsaber in that prequel.

There are so many great players that have played for Hawaii, and have gone on to be Olympians, but I have to say my favorite all-time is Tita Ahuna. The most fearless player.

My top 5 would have to be:
Misty May-My all time favorite player. Watching her run the LBSU offense and lead that team to an undefeated season was amazing. Her decision making, IQ and deceptiveness were unmatched. She averaged 2 kills per set as a setter and was the primary option when she took the first ball. Remember-she was only 5-9 and managed to hit .400 her last two years as a setter. Great hands, great serve, just an amazing player to watch. At the time, I was disappointed to see her go to beach because she was so dynamic indoors. Clearly everything turned out okay, but I would have loved to see her set for the indoor team the last 4 Olympics.
Megan Hodge-Just the ultimate winner at the collegiate level. She was such a fluid athlete and attacker who always rose to the occasion. What stands out most is she consistently played her best volleyball in the biggest matches. She might be the most clutch collegiate player ever. She had the championship winning kill in 2007 (and 25 other kills that night), the match winner against Nebraska in 2008 (she had an outstanding match that night and made many big plays in game 5), the game 2 winning kill in 2008 title vs Stanford when it was 25-24, and perhaps most memorable, she had all 3 game winning kills against Texas in 2009, etc. When you combine how successful she was individually and how she was the star centerpiece on some of the best college volleyball has seen, she's unmatched by anybody.
Kristin Folkl- I think she is sorely overlooked when you analyze the best players in college volleyball history. Folkl was an absolute beast of a hitter. She had a cannon of a shoulder, led the Card to 3 titles and was the go to player on 2 of them. She was an outstanding backrow defender at 6-2 and could rip out of the pipe. She also put up insane numbers in 1997 but was beat out by May for POY. I wish she continued playing volleyball after college, she could have been a staple on team USA.
Lauren Carlini-No one has brought as much artistry to the setting position as Carlini has the last 3 years at Wisconsin. She has completely transformed Wisconsin's program and her ability to consistently nail impossible sets is remarkable. Also love her leadership, grit and fire. I hope she gets her title this year.
Stacey Gordon-Excluding Misty May, inch for inch Stacey Gordon might be the best collegiate player ever. Her season is 2004 has to be regarded as one of the very best ever. Her statistics were insane (kills, hitting %, aces, digging) and she packed so much heat every swing. Her jump serve was devastating and she was a standout player in the backrow. If she played for a better program or had a stronger supporting cast, I think she'd be consistently be mentioned as one of the very best collegiate players ever.
