So on another thread named 'Palos'. A tournament is being run this weekend by a guy who supposedly seeds the National Tournament this summer. Based on all the results this year, 18 Runbird is seeded over 18 Mizuno in this tournament. Explain to me how will 18 Mizuno will get seeded in the top ten at Nationals this summer? They have not played a single team outside of the Midwest. Nothing against the players they did nothing wrong, but the coach of 18 Mizuno is clueless. If you read the complete thread you would have seen that they requested the lower seed in order to play in the afternoon to accommodate juniors taking the ACT.

Warren sixpak 18-1 highlight reel it looks pretty good. I agree, the highlight reel looks pretty good. Let's be clear though, pretty much any team or individual can put together a collection of greatest hits and make their team look awesome. Post a complete match footage against a top tier competitor and it will be more apparent how good a team or individual really is.

I agree with 4vball4.....1st: the highlights are of the setter (who is good but nothing special). 2nd: The team has some kids that bang but shows no SR/Blocking/or Defense. 3rd: I'd also point out that the other teams they are playing against do not look very strong at all....Would like to see a set against a half decent team.

Just checked how they did in California. Lost in two competitive sets to a pretty "decent" team at the SCVA 23-25 17-25 against SCVC. Seems to me that they are pretty good. They also lost easily to AZ Fear 25-16, 25-16 (although beat them in a playoff set 25-23). But I didn't say they weren't a good team. I just said any team or person can put together a highlight reel film and look like superstars.

These teams they were playing were pretty good they were playing yorktowne and some good california teams , and a good canadian team who took 3rd in rochester

The girls schedules have been posted. Any word on when the boys will come out? Is it safe to assume Tuesday or Wednesday of next week? Typically that is when they are released, so yes it's safe to assume sometime next week. Also, the Palos Invite results from this weekend will probably be used for seeding at St Louis.

Who do you think is or will be the best player in the tournament next weekend? Or all tournament team for each position?

Last time I checked at the SPVB website, Runbird is loaded with Juniors. Logically they would play in PM wave. They have more juniors then Mizuno. Kovanic is the only junior that starts on Mizuno. I'm sure there are other OHs in the program not taking ACT. But wait that is another roadblock they can not face on the court.

He was taking the ACT which is why they chose to be the two seed, so they could play in the afternoon.

Who are the contenders for each division. Well I'd have to say Southport 16s has been turning heads as of late and could come out as an underdog going into St. Louis. I know that they did not have the best finish in Chicago but a lot can happen in a month of practice. I can guarantee ,from what I saw in their practice scrimmage last week, that they have improved and are looking dangerous.

They are the true underdog story. Just waiting to come into their prime.
