I mostly went to jazz and classical concerts.
I went to a Bryan Adams concert once because I won 2 free tickets via a radio call-in show. Terrible concert.

Music is really the only reason I go to the Fair. OK. I eat.
Belinda looks damned good, btw. The sound, however, was awful. Not sure what was up with that. It's not usually a problem at that venue.

A Mid-State Fair is held every July in Paso Robles, CA (north of San Luis Obispo, CA). I've never been although a few years ago, I was tempted because Heart was playing. My first thought was imagining what Ann Wilson must be thinking, "How did I ever end up here, in butt-fruck nowheresville in the middle of California, playing for all these yahoos?"

A job is a job, I suppose, but I kind of assume most musicians actually like playing music.

So 38 or 39 years ago I saw the Go-Gos open for The Police. Tonight I saw Belinda Carlisle, now 61, perform at the Minnesota State Fair. I'll let you all just deduce how this makes me feel. Oddly enough, the one thing I remember from that concert (38-39 years ago) was how old I felt compared to the other people in attendance. Edit: February 2, 1982 I saw the Police Twice that tour. Once in the old Bahston Gahden ( mikegarrison) and once in Champaign Urbana. The Go-go's opened in Bahston. I don't remember who opened in Champaign Urbana. The things you remember. The Go-go's sounded horrible, the mix was way off. Of course their sound guy came on and started bashing on the drumset until he got an OK from the guy on the sound board. While the Police sound crew were all over the stage fine tuning the sound, they sounded a lot better. I was seating stage left, almost even with the stage and all I saw was a side view. I did see Andy Summer's area and he stood right in the middle of a dozen pedals and effect boxes, he couldn't even move. The whole time he was tapping this and turning that knob. It ws interesting, you couldn't tell is any of the sound was the guitar.

This is pretty much what she sounded like and this is with recorded backing ...

Fact of the matter is, some recording artists are not very talented and need a lot of “help,” e.g., background singers, studio sound engineer wizardry, producer.

It just might be that she wore out her voice.

My parents lied to me. They said if I cracked my knuckles I would end up with twisted, unusable fingers before I turned 60.

Went to Walmart today. Bought 10 boxer briefs for roughly $13.50. Fruit of the Loom.
