Wasn't there a Minnesota 2016 thread before? Did it disappear? I can't seem to find it!

Might have been a casualty of the Korean Spam Invasion.

I'm curious to see who will play outside for the spring matches and how they do. The obvious choice would be to just do Wilhite (L1) and Goehner (L2) and have them play all rotations, but I wonder if we'll see Eggert in at all and if Eggert is put in if we'll see Goehner still DSing for Wilhite. I think whichever does happen will be telling on how Hugh sees using Wilhite and Goehner in the future. I think it would also be interesting to see Beal in at outside for a set, I've heard she's been practicing more passing in practices (although I'm sure this option is very unlikely). Will anyone be at any of the away spring matches? I'll be at the home match against NDSU.

I'm betting on Goehner and Wilhite starting for sure, with Eggert coming in situationally (maybe to block for Goehner? I don't know). We will have a lot of nice freshman options for OH this fall, as well, plus a ton of pin options in general (including Beal, like you mention), so it will be interesting to see how players are used. Really, I'm just excited to see little improvements from players, especially in passing, and seeing who can bring the fire and emotion that Santana brought.

I would like to see what taylor morgan or buford could do hitting and blocking OH but that would probably screw up serve receive a bit. They are such good athletes and we are so loaded at middle. I am hoping to go to the iowa spring match with k-state, was thinking about going to 18 nationals the week of the home scrimmage but thats up in the air right now. Plus the qualifier is that weekend as well but pretty much all the future recruits will be playing in milwaukee

But you should definitely go watch the recruits and report back!

Gophers land what I think is the first commit for the class of 2020, setter Melani Shaffmaster from Munciana 15O Lorax.

I think she's a.... yeah. She's an eighth grader.
So were the Rolfzens.
LC committed the summer before her freshman year.
Hugh really wants to lock in SSS's replacement.

Well, Sam will be gone after 2018, so not exactly her replacement.
Sara Nielsen is the 2017 setter commit.
