They don't always get it right. If I'm not mistaken, Karsta Lowe didn't crack the top 250 in 2011... Much different... Karsta was a subpar prep player... Both Washington State and Indiana players were standout prep players. makes you wonder what exactly her game was like in high school. It's pretty shocking, she was a walk on at UCLA.

I saw Probabilistic Crapshoot open for Smashing Pumpkins back in '95. They sucked. They were great the night after though! And the Pumpkins put on a show I'll never forget.

Is Indiana related to this years Nebraska OH transfer? I believe not. The Nebraska graduate transfer is from Allen, Texas. The Indiana player is from Illinois. Based on that fact alone, I'm going to say no. No direct or indirect information to answer your question. Sorry

Apology? I had them in the 100!!!
As for Karsta, she was NOT a subpar HS player! She made the Top 250 Senior Aces! This is what I wrote about her recently in our Before They Were Olympians article:
Karsta Lowe, RS: The youngest player on the team at 23, Lowe’s story is the most rags to riches as well. She first caught my eye at Crossroads back when she was a sophomore playing for San Diego VBC. I wrote this about the lean lefthander back then: “She can score points in bunches and when she adds strength, look out!” Though she stood out to me, La Costa Canyon coach Pat McDougall wasn’t sure she’d be a star for his Maverick team. I told him otherwise and, sure enough, Lowe was a force on the LCC team that won our mythical national championship in 2010. Lowe was not a Top 100 Senior Ace in her graduating year; rather, she was in the next 150 group. I recall college coaches thinking that the lefty, who walked on at UCLA, was just a hitter and hence too one dimensional. EVERYONE was wrong about Lowe, who blossomed into an irresistible force at UCLA and became a two-time All-America.

About the level of input:
Most on my panel are their school's recruiting coordinators and are junkies about this stuff. Often there is too much detail!

Regardless, it just seems crazy to me that one year recruiters put a girl in the top 50 and then she drops out.

Can you just give us some reasons that would cause a player to drop like that- even I these reasons are not pertaining to the Wash State girl-or do injuries play a part in your rankings?

Your level of aggressiveness towards this subject is a little alarming. It's just a list... it's okay... breathe... go do yoga or something.

The guy has literally written a full, two-page article on his site about how the list is made. Maybe you should read it before you come on here and embarrass yourself by attacking him.

I think this is being made a bigger deal than it has to be.

I'm not attacking him. I'm questioning why these two players were left off this list.

That may be your intent, but I'm not the only one who perceives your posts as attacks. Maybe you need to check your phraseology a bit. And do some research on your own.

John Tawa I am not trying to attack you. I have great respect for the work you do to promote volleyball. I am just trying to further understand your panel's reasoning.

Fair enough, but recall JT's first post in this thread: " As for why they dropped, that's something I cannot and won't share. Let's just say the college coaches on my panel felt that there were 100 or more players who better fit the criteria we were going for." It doesn't look like you're going to get your answer. My guess is that if JT wants to continue receiving college coaches' input, he's not going to divulge these kinds of details.
