There were a couple of Honorable Mentions I expected to be much, much higher.

Yeah Cyclones! Great to get one on the board, and I expect to see another one later in the countdown!

Yeah Cyclones! Great to get one on the board, and I expect to see another one later in the countdown! I suspect you'll have to wait several days to see the other one. My daughter is a setter in this class, and she thinks very highly of the setter I assume you're referring to. Obviously Tawa and others do as well. But I'm always interested to hear my daughter's answer when I ask her, "who's the best?"

Was only aware of one '17 commit (haven't checked in a while) so assumed that was the one referred to at 91. Exciting to see that we've got some well-regarded players coming in. After whatever happened last year with a different highly ranked setter, I'm hoping we'll have MUCH better luck next year!

There were a couple of Honorable Mentions I expected to be much, much higher. 100% agree. Oh wow. Same actually. Its weird, if a girl comes from your region and you've seen her develop well, then she commits to a lesser-renowned school in that same region early I have to wonder sometimes if they just don't get the exposure to rank higher?

This was a big surprise to me. This was one of the surprises to me. I know that 5'11" is not particularly tall for an OH, but the kid is a gamer. I've been watching this age group for the last six years, and she's one of the most impressive kids I've watched. I've seen her take over matches -- including, on more than one occasion, against my daughter's team.

This was a big surprise to me. Me too... How can someone be top 50 but not top 100?

This was a big surprise to me. Me too... How can someone be top 50 but not top 100? Well I haven't seen her all year, maybe she regressed, maybe coaches weren't paying attention? but I recall back in 2016 at AAU where she played up and she was stand out.

Let me chime in about the Just Missed kids highlighted:
In May, when I submitted my first 100 to the college coaches, the list they use as a starting point, Wazzu kid was 39; Indiana kid was 54. I obviously liked them better...
As for why they dropped, that's something I cannot and won't share. Let's just say the college coaches on my panel felt that there were 100 or more players who better fit the criteria we were going for.
For the record, a total of 16 players in my first look 100 did not survive five rounds of college coach scrutiny

Granted Indiana just tore her ACL at the end of the club season in May, I am shocked also. I'm even more shocked TN got in this at number 100. I thought there could've been many others in there.
