From the UVA press release (http://www.nbc29.com/story/34296417/uva-volleyball-coach-dennis-hohenshelt-resigns):
“Hohenshelt’s contract was set to expire Jan. 25, 2017. The University will fulfill the financial obligations of the contract.”
Applicants will be happy to see UVA’s athletic dept. funds are not so depleted that the school was not in financial position to pay out the last 6 days of the contract.

On the other hand, it could be that they held off making the announcement so that they can get the work out of the staff since they were obligated by contract to pay them until Jan 25.

If they're doing such a poor job that you're letting them go then why extend the time they're working? It seems cheap and a little petty. Bad for Dennis and his family too

This would make you think that the school is cheap and not committed to VB. Feel bad for the families but obviously something wasn't working. My guess is that the new coach will ask for promises for support in writing.

Clemson just fired their coaches. This is wild stuff. Agree. I think it was in the works for awhile and Hugh and Steph gave the AD reasons to fire them.

UGA has plenty of A5 kids (past and present) LOL. That's funny. A 5 is the problem, not the solution. A 5 may have the occasional decent coach here and there, buts not a training system. It's a cleverly marketed recruiting machine and cash cow. And the surrounding clubs and athletes don't offer enough competition in an already weak region. The level of play in the Southern USA region, led by A 5, is not preparing those kids to compete against kids from stronger regions. And I've heard kids in that region don't really work at it, like a Cali or Midwest kid. I think the SEC does suffer from the volleyball it it's backyard. Like the NE. This is a missed classic! So true but yet so wrong! Author and subject are so dependent on athletes but despite the faults in leadership, coaching and training the A5 athletes are making a difference in the Big10, SEC & ACC among others. The author (taking shots at an entire regions athletes) and the subject (admin & coaches) from a money first machine are "cleverly marketed"! Smh lol and spitting up my coffee!

Nadia Edwards at DePaul has to be on the hot seat. Contract not renewed, terrible record, started out 5-1 in conference, now 5-4 with a loss to Creighton coming on Friday. Horrible coach, terrible recruiter, players hate her, assistants leave, 2nd to last EVERY year, only above horrible Providence, Chicago loaded with talent and she can't get them, etc... Above .500 in conference and overall, highest RPI (71) maybe ever? I'd say she's doing well.

Went from 4th place to second to last. This year, 2017, she had 6 starting seniors. How did she do? Buck naked last place, got swept almost every match, won 2 conference matches. 8 years and one of the worst DePaul teams of all time. i love how people have no clue about a program, but act like they know everything. Nadia Edwards got fired Dec 6th. Let’s be honest, if she was a white male, she would have been fired long ago! That dude was spot on.
