Let me preface this by saying, last year was a crazy job year with unwarranted, necessary, and surprising terminations. I know many of the coaches of these programs, and hold no ill-will - this is simply my assessment as a coach and former athletic administrator - and will most likely be complete wrong.
I don't see the changes we had in the Power 5 like last season, but I'd say there is a chance for five openings. In the "Group of 5" and below in Carolina bus leagues of Division I, I believe there will be a massive (30+) amount of change. So because of that massive amount of potential change, I am going to break this up into several posts...
First up the Power 5
Big 10 - Rutgers - Yes the perennial contender. Surely things have stabilized administratively enough for a change - but it is Rutgers, so maybe not.
SEC - realistically one, but as many as three could be roasting this season. Georgia and South Carolina are the hottest seats. Georgia beat SC this past week. They both did what they needed to do with Out of Conference schedules, but I would say whichever of the two finishes lower, is probably gone. LSU could be getting toasty as well and a FRF retirement maybe coming soon, but a train wreck with football will likely gain her another season and as a hometown product she deserves her own time frame - sadly that is not how things tend to end. The SEC this season isn't the SEC last year but there is a clear separation between the top four/five teams and everyone else.
ACC - Most likely two changes coming this year at UVA and BC, UVA appears to have had the wheels fall completely off, while BC hasn't had a winning record since 2004, try that on for size.
Big 12 - So much change in the last two seasons, I'd say all are safe for another year.
PAC - No realistic change here, but a retirement wouldn't shock me either.

Fran Ralston Flory is not a alum of LSU, she is from Baton Rouge and was an assistant coach, but played at UT for Mick. And can anyone explain Virginia, first several years showed promise and yes, the wheels have flown off. Any particulars, recruiting, pushback to coaching staff?? Very curious.

I am not sure why UVA hasn't grown. I know, like and respect Dennis and I know he loves the school and area, but he isn't the first "brand name" coach to go there and struggle.

UVA is having a very bad year after having a couple of pretty good years. UVA lost good seniors and had a great freshman transfer to go home. Do you really have information that the coach might be fired? Or are you making this up based on this year's bad results? I'm guessing you're making this up.

We should change the thread title to truth or made up hot seat rumors?! I thought they're all made up and wild speculation.

Can we add the entire Rutgers athletic staff, from the AD down to the water boy for all sports? Football team just lost 78-0 last year their Men's Basketball team was 1-17 in the league 3rd straight AD is looking like a clown. AD was hired Thanksgiving weekend and he has replaced the football and basketball staffs. You don't win football games with freshman and the basketball coach hasn't coached a game yet. He's extended Vivian Stringer who is arguably the school's best coaching asset, and women's tennis is now fully funded. He announced a $100 million fundraising campaign in January and with $55 million raised they've moved forward with facilities for football, basketball, and baseball/softball. Volleyball is last in the Big 10 is scholarship support, in facilities and in tradition, and they have the least fertile recruiting area of any school in the Big 10. And as they learned with basketball, just because you have an opening doesn't mean someone will take the job. I imagine volleyball would be the same way. You need to change something about the structure of the program to attract a coach who can attract players, who can win matches. Firing the staff is a meaningful event at many schools but for Rutgers that may be like step 5. They need a gym with a roof that doesn't leak first, which is something most schools take for granted. Rutgers isn't most schools.

You are so right, CJ is a BARGIN in comparison to other Big 10 contracts, add to that anyone else coming in is probably going to ask for a 50-75% salary increase because of the COL in the area. I just don't see that happening, at least anytime soon. He knows his seat is hot, but he also is adept at not making waves. My only question to you, is the "last in Big 10 scholarship support"? Don't they have 12 full out-of-state? Or are we talking about summer school, 5th year programs and the like???

Honestly, I haven't asked anyone this year but last year they were apparently at just under 11 full, and not planning to go to 12 until the full Big 10 payments started in 2020-21...but that was before Hobbs came in. I've seen it mentioned that they have begun to fully fund tennis but I haven't heard of them reaching 12 full yet in volleyball. I don't know about summers or 5th year or medicals or any of the other bonus scholarship options. On top of a pay raise for them and the staff, the next coach would probably request a Director of Operations.

Does anyone know when Jody Rogers (VCU) has her contract come up? IDK but she's on her third winning season in 4 years, on pace to get to her 3rd conference semi-finals.

I think it's apparent to most that the title and nature of the thread is for speculation purposes. But maybe that's just me, but I'm use to being in bad form! In this particular UVA case 1) seniors graduated ... Yes, but that happens everywhere and coaching, recruiting and player evaluation is key to sustainability 2) a great freshman transferred home ... Do you have knowledge that she transferred just to be home or are you just speculating? I would at least partially chalk this up to coaching as well or the overall direction of the program. I think vboldskool is spot on with his speculation on this one but I bet Denis will get some time to turn it around. UVA has also lost a few Asst's over the Denis era that may have made a difference.
