Almost and probably? I have never heard those things and not my personal experience with him. Time will tell I guess. This is a joke, right? I hope he makes the best of his 2nd/3rd/4th chance but you clearly are kidding...ok you got me! It was probably wrong of me to throw shade on an anonymous message board. I think he has done well as an assistant. I think his struggles have been documented when he has been a head coach. I think some others may be in that boat. I would consider myself in that boat in my younger days.

Interesting. I wonder why Burdette would post the opening on VT, if he was just going to hire the volunteer. That seems to be more of something you do if you have no candidates in mind or available at such a late date.

Great guy and coach. Aztecs scored with him. Except for the times he was fired or almost fired for verbal abuse and except that he was probably going to be fired from the school he was at because students transferring because of him. Other than that great. Classic Volleytalk post. Zero facts behind statements - "probably" "almost" mixed in with random allegations. The guy was forced out in a tough situation that he, very well, may have created for himself. Started building a men's program at a small school (not an easy task) and increased his roster size every year (facts, check if you must). I hope his second chance is taken advantage of. If he were a scrub, he wouldn't be getting another shot. The guy can clearly coach - thats his job title; under the watchful eye of a head coach. Let this one go - a lot of us are tired of the created criticism.

That seems to be more of something you do if you have no candidates in mind or available at such a late date. He talked to several candidates and did a true search. I believe the male volunteer was hired as a part-time second assistant (first time program has had a 2nd).

Not sure if it was player complaints or parents, or both. Fact. WFU investigated the allegations and cleared him. They apparently video practices and they had the video evidence. Fact. He quit WFU, they didn't fire him.

How many coaches do we know that were about to be fired but quit instead? I don't put too much weight behind him quiting and not getting fired.

Let this one go - a lot of us are tired of the created criticism. He was forced out of a tough situation he did create himself. I can appreciate your allegiance to him. What does increase roster size matter if people are transferring? Those are two separate things. Get 4 in, 2 leave. Get 3 in 1 leaves. Can you tell me how many transfers he had in the 1-2 seasons he was there? If he were a scrub he could still get a second chance. There have been numerous bad coaches that have gotten 2nd and 3rd chances. You are more than welcome to keep your head in the sand with him. This isn't created critisim as much as continued.
