Part of Kelly taking a redshirt was to distance herself from the twins. Kelly will be fine, and Hunter A. can continue to learn from her, and push her to get better.

I don't remember hearing anything about Hunter redshirting partly to "distance herself from the twins". I don't remember hearing that in press conferences, in the newspapers, or even here on volleytalk. I'm wondering if you could backup that statement, because if that were the case, then I think we would have heard about it. Otherwise, that's speculation, to be frank.

No excuses...but.....I have never seen Nebraska play that bad. Foecke was the only one producing and she was even off. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Can you imagine the poor coaches?

It can't be supported by evidence because it's made up garbage. Fans want to create things that just aren't there so they can rationalize why the team lost. The reason is simple. It's a lot of pressure to defend a national championship and they came out tight, Texas was playing well, and they lost. The end. Even great teams lose. This team did 3 times over the course of the season. You can't play perfect, or even near perfect, all the time. Occasionally 1-2 players will have an off night. Sometimes almost the whole team can have an off night. It just so happens that scenario played out for Nebraska in the semifinals. However, there's no hidden reasons as to why. It was just one of those nights. They couldn't get it going and settle in and played a good opponent.

Wow, someone needs to talk a couple huskers off the ledge! You just had two great seasons and unfortunately ran into a hot team that was gunning for you anyways. The same negative posters will probably be complaining next year that the new players aren't as good as the twins!

You didn't hear anything about it because it's total bull crap. I don't know why people feel the need to dramatize an issue when there isn't any drama to be had. Gonna be a long off season if we're going to have to listen to crap like that for the next eight months.

Yep, that was last year. We went on a 6 year FF drought, and now we make it 2 years in a row. Just gotta keep things in perspective.

I do recall Coach Cook in an interview stating something like,"One of the reasons for redshirting Kelly was to separate her from the twins so she could create her own identity". I thought it was just a throwaway line, and really didn't think nothing much of it. I thought he was just kind of reinforcing his own decision.

First, not saying I agree with the line said. However, they're not wrong in the fact that it was said. Cook said it in the NET show Destination Omaha. Like most, I didn't really pay much attention to it.
