Gina Mancuso to BKS Bielsko-Biala in Poland and Kyra Holt to Dimurol Libbys in Spain after planning to play in the PR league that isn't happening this year. Pavan has left Casalmaggiore and they are trying out Annie Drews in her place. Damn, it was a very busy day for American players. But to be very honest, I didnt like any of these transfers. Spain and Poland have very weak leagues. Holt and Mancuso would be better off playing against stronger competition. Both did very well in college, and transitioning to professional life in Spain and Poland makes me wonder how much they will improve the next season. Drew's case is a little bit more complex in my opinion, as Italy's A1 is a strong league, and Casalmaggiore is a serious organization. However, how much will she improve by only practicing with the team and not being able to play, since by A1 rules she will be only able to debut next season? volleymob.com/american-kyra-holt-signs-spain-dimurol/volleymob.com/former-nebraska-huskers-gina-mancuso-signs-bks-bielsko-biala/volleymob.com/team-usas-annie-drews-signs-trial-contract-casalmaggiore/

And if you consider all the many different leagues (over 30?!) Americans are playing in right now, a spanish league title contender might still be a decent choice to start making a name for yourself in Europe.

However, I wish we had transparent salary information like in the NBA and NFL to be able to make a better assessment. I may be reaching here...but how much of a name can you make for yourself playing in an amateurish league like in Spain? Maybe it would be better to play A2 in Italy, for example.

Yes, A2 in Italy would be better, that's true. But if you do a very good job in Spain, clubs in neighboring France (or elsewhere) probably will start to pay attention. No, it's not a strong league, but i also don't think that Spain belongs to the category of the really weak leagues. There's this tendency to call everything besides a handful of world class leagues "weak" or "not relevant" or whatever because no big "brand" players are playing there. Isabelle Haak didn't remain unnoticed in the Swedish league. Piia Korhonen (now german league top scorer) didn't remain unnoticed in the Finnish league. Krystal Rivers, Danielle Harbin or Kierra Holst (among the top scorers in FRA, SUI and GRE right now) maybe won't be forgotten as well (even if there's not much talk about these leagues on the big news sites). At least i hope so.

I know it's the sand, but Alix Klineman won the Dela Beach open with partner April Ross earlier today. Good to see her transition to the beach is off to a good start!

At least i hope so. Absolutely true. Even Teams in Italy/Turkey keep a eye on other leagues. Haak actually played her last season in France. I noticed Rivers is playing well, but I think her height could be something not so "attractive" for stronger teams in stronger leagues, especially in Europe. ( And in any case the USA NT as well). I personally don`t believe in the "height" thing, playing in France also is Haley Spelman (6`8) she`s a very weak player, but her height is what keeps her on the court. For me talent comes first but we usually don`t see a lot of OPP under 6`0 in Europe.

Instagram profile says Jennifer Nogueras. I think she's an old Washington setter?
