I don't really think Chaim is that great of a player, Internationally. If him and Saxton represented the US, they wouldn't even be a MD qualifying team. The only reason they were in the Olympics was CQ. They finished 19th on the FIVB tour last year (Hyden/BNourne finished 11th), and it was his best year Internationally. Really disagree with this. Not sure which U.S. defenders I would rank higher than him. He sides out better than any of them and is better in transition. Gives up a little on the defensive side, but his offensive ability outweighs. Would be interesting to see his FIVB finishes playing with either Gibb or Phil. I disagree. Maybe just player preference on our part to what we like in players. I think his offensive game in regards to siding out as well as attacking in transition is way to inconsistent to make up for what he doesn't bring defensively when you compare him to International players. I've seen him play alot over the years. I think he's a real good player, I don't think he does anything well enough to be considered a step above or even on par with the US International main draw players. He's a very similiar player to Patterson. Saxton also is no slouch either.

Mesko/Del Sol getting Olson/Cook is horrible draw for them as has been posted, at least it's early versus late. That Partain v Wachfogel match should be fun, just looking at this bracket tho gives me a migraine.

My buddy Jimmy Nichols (some of you may remember him from years ago on the AVP Tour) is playing in the Q with his son Walker. They are the 11 seed. Got me thinking - Obviously there are successful brother/brother teams - has there been any type of success with a Father/Son team?

I think the Selznicks may have played together once or twice but couldnt find it on BVBinfo. I know Karch played some with his dad, but I think those were lower level events, rather than Opens.

Steve Friedman still has game, so if he played with one of his boys they'd be pretty strong.

No idea on this bracket but I'll take Mcfarland/Ortega and imagine its Marco and Dana instead of these guys. Paulis/Sauter McKenzie/Satterfield No idea on this bracket either Lotman/Ospina Olson/Cook

I wouldn't be surprised if any of these won that top section: Hughes / Woloson Brunsting / Samuels Beranek / Prosser Amorim / Borges

I thought he was registered with Kevin Craig, maybe the premier partner getter in the world after Roberts and Mesko, but now Kevin is playing with someone else. Also has anyone noticed that Roberts/Mesko are playing together in France. I think the jokes are almost too obvious

If he is missing the FIVB event and also does not play in Chicago and ends up playing in the motherlode I am going to think he may just be choosing to take the Page route on his volleyball "career".

It's ridiculous to mention FIVB with Del Sol, that's like saying a rookie league player in the Yankees farm system plays for the actual New York Yankees, stop.

Tough 3-set win for Wachtfogel over one of the Partains. Agree on Honer, if kid doesn't get in with this draw, it'll be monumental disappointment.

Some nasty looking scores in rd. 1. Smith/Fiers win 42-10, Glave Jr. held to 14, Danley wins by same margin
