Wasn't there some thought that Clark was NOT on scholarship? I asked Punzel and he was under the impression she had a scholarship.

Him and probably every other D1 coach in the nation. It would be a real coup if we could snag her. Hope she likes cheese. Batenhorst is going to be special as long as she stays healthy. As a 6'4" Frosh she has great coordination for her size. That would be a huge "snag" for Wisconsin! She is from Katy which is a suburb just west of Houston and around an hour from A&M, and 2 1/2 from UT. (The 2021 class is the year I expect Bird from A&M to start landing some of the top 5 players from Texas and put a dent into Elliott's dominance in the state) Any success Bird has in recruiting will have a stronger negative effect on out of state schools than Elliott/UT.

What we know about the smalls and scholarships: Dodge is on scholarship of some kind. Her being on scholarship has been talked about since she was in high school ( article). She was the first 2016 to commit, and we've assumed she's on a full four-year scholarship, but I suppose nobody has confirmed that. Dodd is on a 2/2 per press coverage ( article), but that isn't necessarily her junior and senior years. It could be any two of her four years at UW, and we don't know which ones. Some posters who were familiar with Clark's situation at Michigan have said that Clark was not on scholarship there, but she is thought to be on scholarship at Wisconsin based on posters' conversations with Punzel. I couldn't find any articles on her scholarship status. Bell is believed to be a walk-on, based on how late she committed and the fact that by our math, all the available scholarships were taken by hitters. Her scholarship status hasn't been discussed in the press as far as we know. MacDonald is known to have been a walk-on ( source), but Sheff was prepared to put her on scholarship for her senior year if she hadn't retired ( source). As for the 2019s, we know that Emma Whitehead is a walk-on based on the article announcing her commitment. There's been no confirmation regarding the scholarship status of Anna Mac, Gregorski (OH/L), or Kuck. We speculate that at least one of the above is at least on a partial. So it would seem that two, maybe three smalls are/will be on scholarship at any given time during 2018 & 2019.

Always good to have those links in one spot, so future conversation can be grounded in what we know. I often think we should have some way to merge the scholarship spreadsheet and the list of news items relating to scholarship status of specific players, and then find some way to pin them for easy reference.

I was wondering about this! It's a couple of weeks later than usual this year.
Gary White is also going to be there as a court coach.
Good luck, ladies.

You missed Danielle Hart and Sydney Hilley. Seven total current Badgers on the list.

For some reason I thought I typed both of those but guess not!

Both Rettke and Hart are trying out as middles, not opposites - for whatever that's worth.

Looks like A-Mac is making good on her plans to be a student assistant or manager.

There's been speculation here that one or both of them would move to opposite at Wisconsin. Just pointing out that they're trying out as middles, which would indicate that that is how they've both been training, and suggest that they're not moving - at least not yet.

Looks like A-Mac is making good on her plans to be a student assistant or manager. Also notable, T-dub back to just wearing the usual lower leg tape, and not a combination of leg brace, leg sleeve, or quad tape.

I feel it, too, AMac! Can you please ask everyone to remain uninjured?
