I had a feeling today was the day. Wish we weren’t up two sets and get a L, but I didn’t think we could have won to Standford tbh.
But congrats Illini fans for sticking with the. This group of young ladies were a fantastic group. They seemed as they all got along very well. Excited for the future. I hope Allision makes her way to Champaign and with some more competitive pin hitters we should be contenders to be great again.

As an Illini volleyball fan for over 45 years, I am so very proud of this Illini team! I am still hurting from the loss last night, but once I get over that, what will remain will be many fond memories of what this year's team accomplished. Final Four...wow! Second place in the B1G. I was in the stands at Ft. Collins, Colorado (Colorado State) August 24th when this team played their first match of the season. How very far this team has come from that match vs. North Carolina-Wilmington to last night's amazing match vs. Nebraska. The future of Illini volleyball is at its brightest ever. Thank-you Coach Tamas and staff! Thank-you players! Mark my words, this is only the beginning of a string of many great seasons to come!

Congrats to all the Illinois players and the coaching staff on a great season. I've been following Illinois volleyball since 1991 and this has been one of the most exciting seasons in the program's history. Special thanks to the seniors for your leadership and dedication to Illinois volleyball. You will all be missed, but know you have left a remarkable legacy at the University of Illinois. The program is in great hands and I'm looking forward to many more great seasons.

So close. If it had been a blow out would have hurt less. I actually had to put the kids to sleep during the third set and of course I passed out before they did so when I went to sleep felt pretty good so it was a shock in the morning. Anyone care to save me the pain of having to watch the DVR and just give me an idea of what went wrong? Oh well, prevents us from having to watch Stanford beating us. I just don't see any way we would have beat them, of course, I said I didn't see us making the final four either. Honestly hurts less than 2011, I was expecting a title that year. Anyway great season and very proud of this team. Way better than I thought. I have been keeping tabs on this class since they signed and decided this was the year I was going to be really involved and try to go to every match I could. Very glad I did, it was a magical run.

What happened was, Nebraska pressuring Quade in serve revive and her passing was falling apart. Foecke was calling for very set and hammering them down. Sun stepped up her game tremendously as well. In then in the 5th, 3 of Nebraska first 4 points were Illinois serves into the net. The Illini missed 3 straight serves. But most importantly for Nebraska, they put a lot more service pressure than the first two sets.

Serve and pass. Nebraska serve and receive steadied out enough (still not great), Illinois serve got very shaky (all their errors came in the last three sets) and receive wore down enough for Nebraska to get the upper hand. Still a really close match...could have gone either way. Somewhat controversial challenge overrule at 12-12 in the fifth to make it 13-11 Nebraska. Commentators speculated Cook called a challenge just to get a timeout. That's what I thought as well. But then, boom, call overruled.

They did leave it all on the court. They just had too many unforced errors and shaky passing. It was a really fun team to watch and cheer for all year.

They had 0 service errors until the 3rd set if i remember the gamecast stats correct. Do they use the same camera system that the olympics use for the semifinal/finals? On the ESPN replay, it looked like a touch. With the hands going up and forward, I dont see how a pinky could be moved back on its own without the ball hitting it. But it was a very close call and if it had not been overturned I think that wouldve been ok too.

Most likely caused by her own movement rather than the ball. I don't see how they can conclusively say the ball touched her.

She would’ve had a much different reaction had it not and the call being overturned.

I wish they would play a 3rd place match like they used to. The players are probably still there and I would think it would not be a significant cost to run an extra game, although I am probably wrong. Would love to see this team play one last time.

Good lord, no. When I was in college, we played in that match twice in my four years. Worst. Match. Ever. Everyone is miserable, the level of play drops significantly. It was just all-around terrible.
