I think with improved passing and defense Blayke becomes a much better option for the middle since there is no other middle. Ali B is for sure the M1 but with Cooney's improvement and the other OH, I don't believe the front line is all that terrible. We just have to be at +3 while Blayke is in the front row. I loved Blayke's offensive capability last year. Her blocking was lacking, especially against taller middles (which is just about everyone). That's why once Omazic's offense caught up, she started the latter half of the season.

We'll see I guess. I'm just not as nervous about it as some of the other posters. Whenever I read this thread, some of us make it sound like opening day is tomorrow.

For what it's worth, Bruna posted an Instagram story today of her wearing an Illini uniform (#9).

Maybe they are waiting to post the schedule until after the roster has been finalized.

Just checked PS and Neb - both their schedules posted. Thinking a lot of clubs haven't finalized rosters yet. Obviously the conference schedule is finalized, and just not posted by Illinoi yet...

Actually, my comment about the finalized roster was kind of a snarky statement given the angst, including my own, about open roster spots. I guess I need to actually say a comment is snarky when I make it.

Kaylin Korte playing well for the usa college team. Think we coulds used her this year or even last year. Think her defense and offense has improved I think Korte has improved also, however I think her improvement was due to the playing time she received at Clemson and the process of competing day after day became her teacher. I am not sure she develops the same way at Illinois especially when Tamas was transitioning from Hambly-ball. It was more beneficial for her to leave than it would have been beneficial for Illinois to have her stay.

Good for her. Too often we focus on what is good for fans and not on the players. As well as she is playing I doubt she would be playing in front of Quade or Prince. If she was playing well enough, Prince might has stayed on the right side and Cooney might not have developed as she did. Everyone has benefited (except any player she bumped at Clemson.) Best of all, she is now having a good college athletic experience.
