The contrast between Mac and O'Leary was interesting. Mac had better success pushing middle, and as Bone said connection with Carly. At 6-1 Mac is an above average blocker for a setter as well, and can hit in a 6 2 offense if needed. O'Leary is better at controlling the tempo of the offense, she can speed it up and slow it down depending on if we are in trouble or not. The real difference was the number of 1 on 1 position's O'Leary puts her hitter's in. Erin is clearly better at holding the other teams middle and making sure they play honest defense on the block. Our hitters were looking at a lot of double blocks with Mac in yesterday.
It's all good news for Michigan Volleyball, because this will create more competition in the gym.

When looking up info for this weekend's matches at Aquinas College, I did a double take when I saw the cover photo for the GR Sports Hall Of Fame FB page. Yes, that's Tiffany Clark wearing the libero jersey in what was her next to last appearance in a Michigan uniform last spring. It's only been a year, but it seems like a lifetime ago.

I was up at UW Medical Center in Seattle the other day rehashing some old memories. I was recalling when she was a UW research scientist and I was a computer support specialist back in 93. She was very stout and had an incredible forehand in tennis. Kicked my azz needless to say. I'm not sure where she ended up after Seattle.

O’Leary is solid. Her location is good and she blocks better than her height would suggest. Michigan’s offense is in good hands with her. there are a lot of good setters in this class, make no mistake about that. It's really not like it's Hames and then everyone else, and that will become very apparent by time this 2018 class finishes their sophomore year. There are some players in this class that I think are going to make some big moves in college, much bigger than what their senior aces rank suggest. O'Leary is one of them, Miller for Nebraska, Yett for Utah, Harrer at UCLA, McCall at TCU.

Seven kids coming in next year. Well 6 plus O'Leary who is already in the gym. Rosen is creating competition at every spot. I think Lizzie can also play Right Side.

It's the springtime edition of the Rosen Report! Condensed translation: I have a serious competition at setter for 2018.

O'Leary is one of many examples why I say that. I got to see her play and she is most definitely one of the top 10 players in this class (my opinion).

Hey, the transfers thread has Carly Skjodt listed as a grad transfer to Pepperdine for beach, announced 5/21/18. volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/71737/d1-transfers-2018I thought she was a rising senior. I can’t find a press release from Pepperdine, and Skjodt’s Twitter is locked down, so I can’t see if she announced something. I’d be really surprised if she didn’t play her senior season of indoor. Do you folks know, is she graduating early in December of this year and going to Pepperdine after that? vballfreak808 - Where did this come from? Can you elaborate?
