Dear Kerri:
If you truly want to do something productive for the sport and for the younger players coming up, please either sit down with Donald Sun and work out your differences or just quietly go away.
Dear Al B:
Please steer away from throwing your lot in with loser Leonard, schedule a meeting with Donald Sun, and make plans to develop future opportunities for all of the players, both old and new, together.
Dear Kerri, Leonard and Casey:
You have all had your day(s) in the sun. Your desire to stay in the spotlight now seems totally self-absorbed and not at all authentic. Please just go gently into that good night and let the adults attempt to actually turn a profit with beach volleyball and grow the sport responsibly.
Love, a 30 year beach volleyball fan

Love, a 30 year beach volleyball fan Kerri self-absorbed and not authentic? Bite your tongue. I know why everyone is focusing on Kerri, but this is not a Kerri tour. She is its face to be sure, but does anyone really think the driving force isnt, or wont be, Leonard? (I have no inside info but this just seems like common sense) He has his faults, which a lot of people know better than me, but he was also key to both times BVB was biggest. I'm not sure anyone can make a domestic tour work now with the FIVB constraints and a crop of vanilla players who are mostly self-absorbed and personality-deficient, i.e. a lot like Kerri, but I would probably bet on Leonard long term to get closer to success. Also Kerri is a huge resource as a publicity magnet. I appreciate what Donald has done, particularly putting in his own money in, and locking in the players to long term deals last year was a smart powerplay, but his tour hasn't grown much over time. All that said the most likely result seems like both tours failing

Wait, you think the new National Volleyball Association is the first American indoor league? Dude, learn some history. It's not even the first indoor league to use that name.

As for Kerri's tour: I'll believe it when I see it.

I know this news, not even 12 hours old yet really have some people quivering in their boots that Kerri might actually pull this venture off....As for fans of this sport, we should all hope that she can. In the meantime Casey Jennings says more information coming in January 2018!
So therefore, I will sit back, relax, and wait for more information, eat some great holiday food, enjoy time with Family & Friends, and wish all of my fellow VT posters a very Merry Christmas 🎄& a Very Happy New Year! Talk to Everyone in 2018! 😊👊

Y'all need to calm down about the AVP contract. It does not say you cannot play any other tour, just has them reserve the right to allow or not allow as they see fit. I would not be surprised if they work out a deal to have the players allowed by AVP... would be better politically, and allows the sport to expand and let's the AVP still own it... the reality is sponsors want Kerri.period.

The AVP didn't do that for the NVL. While I agree with you, doesn't mean it's good business for The AVP. I don't have a problem with the AVP protecting their investment, which is what they've done by being the only place where the players can make some money domestically. Not talking about the top 4 teams, but the McKibbins & Loomis type players. They've been able to do somethings of the court that maybe they wouldn't if the AVP wasn't around.

The name says it all.
Magic, Jordan, Russell have no tour.
Mays, Aaron & DeMaggio no such namesake .
Montana, Starr, not the Fearsome Foursome.
The Ego , the need to be the savior & golden child is apparent. So much so that all others are just living a world as wannabe hobbists.
Please face the camera and look your audience in the eyes and. Was that an authorized meet & greet or an illicit pitch of a professional playing opportunity to committed future NCAA student athletes?
Please someone provide a list of long term, stick by her side Advertisers, brands or athletic sponsorships or relationships she had maintained over the past decade?
Wilson = gone. ASICS = fizzle pop. Oakley = free glasses, Lulu = merchandise. ESPN = America has turned out the lights.
No doubt there may be others, but those in the know are running for cover, not investing or committing to this sport because of the confusion & misinformation. So actually she is currently hurting the opportunities for current & future beach athletes.
Business 101 & from the Pages of N. Hill.
If you have a great product or service go compete, you don’t knock the competition nor downgrade your opponent, you step in the ring, prepared for battle. A savy business person does not need to foretell their coming especially with a blank slate & no factual data.

It is genius. Kerri increases her career win/$ winnings totals, while the "college players" she attracts to play in it with her all have to decline prize money.

I think it is funny how people are quick to judge Kerri, when the AVP used her as their "Prize Pony" for years, putting her face on everything, and using her to gain sponsors.

I agree with many posters above in the thinking that a competing tour isn't the best option for #growingthegame. There definitely isn't an overwhelming amount of money and sponsors for beach volleyball and some of them are loyal to KWJ. I could see some people hopping on board with her and then putting less into the AVP, which then splits the already small amount of money into 2 tours with neither one being set up for success. If KWJ really wants to grow the game, then swallow your pride and get back with the AVP to work out a plan going forward. The AVP is the best setup for future success right now, and if Kerri has all these great ideas, sit down with Donald Sun and work something out. If she has all this money/sponsorship backing, use that to leverage something with the AVP and make that tour better and bigger. I think most people would agree that's the best option to grow the game. Starting a new tour from scratch and thinning out everything (talent, money, sponsors, viewers, etc.) isn't a recipe for success.

Which “some” can or would you please identify that are loyal KW brands?
The reason she doesn’t go back to the AVP is because that bridge is burned and Donald doesn’t need a Boss.
This is a fact that the VB Old Guard from MB & PP cannot stomach, Sun does not need nor want their help or self serving influences. So they wish to create an apposing force. Great, just do it.
Dates, locations, rules, quality officials & prize money. Just the facts please.
