I just heard from a prominent Southern California coach that USC lost out on two huge transfers with the coaching hire. Is it going to affect the kids who are already committed and the ones they had lined up for 2020? There is only one 2020 I am aware of so far. She is no longer listed on richkern, but is still listed on her club page as USC. Has there been any word on USC filling out the staff? The player from Vegas?

The player from Vegas? Club pages are generally slow to update. However, if she de-committed, usually Rich posts a note on the commitments front page saying so-and-so is no longer committed. As of last weekend in Anaheim, she was still committed to USC as far as anyone knew.

From what I remember she was mostly committed because of Beach anyways...

If Sun wanted to play for Mick she would have gone to USC when he was heavily recruiting her in the first place. Mick recruited her relentlessly. He monopolized all her club coach's time between games at club tournaments. He kept talking to her club coach for a long time after tournaments were over. You have to believe she and her parents were giving some positive feedback to Mick for him to stay so engaged.
Sun and her parents kept her intentions pretty much under wraps. Abercrombie was convinced Sun would be at USC up until shortly before Sun's public announcement.

Abercrombie could not seal the deal? That is surprising.

Abercrombie could not seal the deal? That is surprising. Not that it has any particular relevance at this point, but Robyn Ah Mow Santos probably spent more time camped on her sideline last year than Mick. She was the club head coach and part time team coach for her last year and was on the bench for at least a few tourneys before she left for Hawaii. Are you talking about USC’s 2020 from Vegas? The poster was talking about Sun. Lol

Lexi not transferring to USC opens up another scholarship for another great player.

So are there any actual confirmations in this thread? So far it's only the usual rumor mill spinning...

From what I remember she was mostly committed because of Beach anyways... That is not a thing. They wouldn't waste an indoor scholarship on a primarily Beach player. A beach scholarship can't play indoor for two years. Either way, sand recruits are listed. USC lists 5 sand recruits for 2020. She is not one of them. PV still lists her as USC. Mick had agreed to let her play both indoor and beach, which was key to getting her commitment.

Does SC have another OH freshman phenom committed to come in to help out Botkin when Lanier graduates?
I still hope Lanier plays lights out her senior year and take NPOY. I don’t think it’s hers to take in 2018. She’s definitely a stud like Jupiter and Bricio.

Top 10 or 15 recruit Schirmer is already right there on the bench. Hasn’t played yet, will she be redshirted or Crouch doesn’t feel she fits the bill?
