Congratulations to Tianjin Bohai Bank winning this seasons Chinese Female Superleague! Tianjin beats Shanghai after making a comeback from being down 2-3 in the final series, winning the 6th game followed by the 7th/final game both of which went to a 5 set thriller. Tianjin wins the series 4-3. Game 7 Stats: Shanghai 2-3 Tianjin 25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 22-25, 14-16 Shanghai- Zeng Chunlei (OP) 31, Kim Yeon-Koung (OH) 22, Zhang Yichan (OH) 16, Ma Yunwen (MB) 9, Yang Zhou (MB) 7 Tianjin- Li Yingying (OH) 43, Liu Xiaotong (OH) 20, Wang Yuanyuan (MB) 14, Yang Yi (OP) 12, Wang Ning (MB) 6 The opposite, Yang Yi also stepped up her game. Looks like Li Yingying didn't want to be 2nd place and decided to battle back and win. She found some leftover fuel in her and gave us an amazing performance, definitely the best and only candidate for MVP this season. Good job to both teams for fighting till the end. Much respect to the veterans on Shanghai for challenging the young Tianjin. Great way to end the season. Hope all the players new and those continuing have a successful career and remain healthy, the same goes to those retiring. Within the total of 7 games, Li scored 206 points and a whopping total of 804 this season, setting a new record. Here's her points throughout the final series. Game 1: 31 Game 2: 28 Game 3: 31 Game 4: 18 Game 5: 21 Game 6: 34 Game 7: 43

If Li Yingying plays like this with the NT....everyone else will be playing for Silver and Bronze every time.
Zhu is already enough for China to win GOLD...now having another "Zhu" in the team will be simply impossible to stop them. Not to mention they still have Yuan and Zhang.

This article was posted on Oct. 9, 2016. Li participated in a national team training trial at only 16, a couple month's after China's gold medal win in Rio. Lang Ping personally created training programs for Li and guided her technical skills along the way if she made some mistakes. She also told her to "eat more" so she gets bigger and stronger. Lai Yawen also gave her some advice to work on her body. This was almost two years ago and I think her training has paid off. Although it says she's only 192cm, some comments have said she has actually grown to 196cm, but her spike/block height still could be improved in my opinion. Her block is the one I'm most worried about. Source: www.bestchinanews.com/Sports/6142.html

I also think highly of her, and in my opinion, the way she played in game 7 of the finals is not up to her standards that she set throughout the regular season. I thought that she had an unusually high number of errors in Game 7, including hitting a few balls into the net.

Tianjin's 195 cm middle blocker was noticeably taller than Li.

On the FIVB Women's U20 world championship 2017 she was listed as 192cm, but on the China website she's now 197cm. It certainly is possible she continued to grow, but growing 5cm = 1.969in within a year is amazing! Good for the Chinese women's volleyball!

Yang Hanyu appears to be a legitimate 197 or at least very close to it. I saw her in a match after she was selected by Beijing at mid season when Shandong didn't make the group of the best eight teams. Lots of athletic ability, but still needs quite a bit of developing. If she reaches her athletic potential, she would be quite the replacement for Yan Ni when she retires from the national team.

I think that Zeng Chunlei might be the least replaceable part for China. She gives them what they needed most at the OP position: stable passing. When she replaced Gong Xiangyu last summer, China become much better.

She has the physical aspect, but just need to work on the skills to go along with it. I feel she would develop better and quicker playing on another team other than Shandong. She played well with the Beijing team.
