Isn’t Chandler a 6’6” 118 lb setter? There must be some politics in the pipeline... Way to attack a kid! You should be proud of yourself behind the keyboard! There are many skinny players who are good. He just happens to be one of them. I have coached against all these kids and have seen them. You shouldn’t hate on a kid because you couldn’t live up to any of there talents. And yes smart guy there is politics in everything...everything!!! Yes there is politics in everything, but sometimes those politics hurt our country's program and the resiliency of players that are working hard for spots on these rosters. I know for certain Conner Dunn who is a true 6'8 setter (LOOK A TALL SETTER USA) is better than a low volleyball iq and terrible court presence Brendin Chandler (just ask any of his Balboa teammates about his lack to contribute). SO SMARTER GUY! There may be politics but just because something exists doesn't mean we should endorse it and say it's acceptable that politics happen. As a volleyball community we have to hold these coaches accountable for making the best training roster regardless of politics, region or club. This is the kind of scenario that keeps volleyball from growing in the USA.

This is the kind of thing biased dads say when they are hiding behind their keyboards.

I personally like to blame it on things other than a senior in high school being in the pool for the JNT.

At least we both agree that politics got him to the national team. In hitting lines, his teammates don’t even hit his sets. I saw him turn down a protein bar. Big mistake.

Let's try not to forget what this team is used for. It's to be a pipe line for possible future men's national players? I'm pretty sure a tall setter is justified !
Apparently you were not around when Matt Anderson played club ball. He was the same build in high school and now look at that tank ! He turned out to be pretty amazing
Smart pick in my opinion.

Has there been any update on the schedule for training or the tournament?
Bjnc is a month away. Players must be wondering if they should book flights or make arrangements to travel to Phoenix?

Just heard that the new dates for training and competition now conflict with players starting school in late August. Sounds like a change coming in the make-up of the team. Should be interesting.

That's tough for just about anyone wanting to go.

That's tough for just about anyone wanting to go. UC schools don’t start until late September so those guys should be good. (UCLA UCI UCSD and UCSB)

Assuming the UC Irvine players turn down the offer, any guess who will be invited to the training team?

Anyone know when they are going to release the roster? They’ve got to have all the guys for the training team figured out by now.
