Agreed 100% Many people that have moral courage left this year. I believe even more will be leaving next year. How many have left? The last I checked there were 40 girls teams. 12's - 1 team 13's - 5 teams 14's - 10 teams (many of the girls from clubs that left the GLPL) and they cut some girls. 15's - 9 teams 16's - 7 teams 17's - 1 team 18's - 7 teams Plus all of the GLCYA teams. Clinics and private lessons all fill up shortly after being announced. If you know of, or have a number of girls that left I'd like to hear it. Yo troll: here's the deal; in the Entirety of your 57 posts, this is one of THE first times in which You have actually contributed anything - instead of disparaging others to do the very same (which they-we have, repeatedly). Instead of being SUCH THE miserable SPRI sycophant/apologist/supporter, why not get SPVB pompoms; holding up placards with the letters C-H-I-L-D R-A-P-I-S-T as you root on your side. You can even put RB's picture (his appearance now; not when he raped those girls) on them!

I just want to know how this lawsuit plays out so it is a bummer when I see "New" and it's ya'll arguing about how many stuck with the rapist and how many left. What I really want is for Rick to go to prison for rape, but I would be satisfied if from now until his exit of the sport that it be known to all that he is a rapist. That way, no one can feign ignorance, and we know who the fark to avoid.

That way, no one can feign ignorance, and we know who the fark to avoid. Unfortunately, no new docs released on www.courtlistener.com/docket/6318197/mullen-v-glv-inc/ - I actually got tired of not being able to view the 'buy on PACER' docs, so I opened an account. 7-10days to get my login validation via snail-mail. In a couple of weeks, i hope to be able to post some of those documents. in the meantime - pasted what is newly available and date to watch for something new looks to be 4.19.19. SPVB alums from the last few years are reaching out to their former team mates to contact the plaintiff lawyers of the class action suit to opt out of the class action in hopes of collapsing the class. Not sure how many opt-outs they would need to collapse the lawsuit, but there it is.
Edit: I have been told that since the judge has already granted class status that no amount of opt outs would collapse the lawsuit, so their effort is for naught.

People in this thread that are pretending not many people care know damn well there are a TON of people that care, so stop wasting your time with them.
The gold pools on the final day of power league was 5 spri teams out of 8 total teams in gold. If you think at least a few parents aren't tired of paying to see a glorified scrimmage I think you are kidding yourself. Maybe a majority stay for the training next year, which is no doubt good. But if a few kids leave, the tournament entries continue to drop (who wants to travel to IL to play against a couple other clubs when there are a ton of competitive tournaments?), and the legal pressure continues I don't see how they can keep their doors open without RB stepping away.
Heck there is an adult tournament being hosted there next weekend, which I have not seen outside of the Spike Out Cancer fundraiser tournament held between HS and club seasons. To me that says he is taking money any way he can get it now.
This club season has been interesting with the amount of teams that left their tournaments, I think next season will be even more interesting to see what those parents do who are showing up to watch their daughters play 6 matches at a tournament and 4 of them are against girls they see at practice every day. I am sure there will be families that will stick around because of the training, but it will be interesting to see how many do not.

Your hopes of SPVB miraculously folding in one season is a pipe dream. So many people don't care what people outside the club think. The training is superior and colleges are still plucking up players. GLC is going to make money regardless with clinics, private lessons, or adult tournaments. I know there is a group on here that thinks their bitching and moaning will make a difference, but it won't. Let's just wait and see how the lawsuit plays out, if it cripples RB than so be it. Only time will tell.

I am sure there will be families that will stick around because of the training, but it will be interesting to see how many do not. Nicely articulated. It occurred to me that the few clubs that did play in the GLPL this year may have second thoughts next year. Like Velocity 219 from Hammond IN (40+miles away) sending 4 teams that finished as the bottom 4 (41st-44th). Or Central Illinois Elite from Bloomington (120miles) sending 3 teams and finishing 24th, 38th, 40th, or Energy (who sent all 13 clubs, including 16E who also played in WCPL) sending 1 club and finishing 37th. 7 clubs total in the GLPL and it would be pretty shocking to see 3 of those clubs return. Also to consider, unless a settlement is reached, fact discovery is due by end of August, and expert discovery is due by 11.18.19. Too bad it looks like depositions will not happen till end of the calendar year or even early 2020. This is a long way from over for sure, but I cannot see how this being an ongoing issue will do anything but strengthen the resolve of the VB community to boycott Rick and his facility. If the SPRI family chooses to continue to support him as the rest of the VB world shuns him, fine by me!

In no place did I say that they would fold in one season. Soap box? I simply stated my opinion and a few facts, one of which that their training is good. Sounds like I am really on a soap box....
Adult tournaments in the area outside of a couple make barely any money compared to a club tournament. If you do not think he is hurting for money I do not know what to tell you. There is a reason he hosted juniors tournaments instead of clinics and adult tournaments...because they make more money. That facility cannot be cheap, especially after the addition of courts 9-12. I do not know what will happen, that is why I said "it will be interesting"
