Like the semifinals, it’s like Nicole only woke up in the second set, except Brandie couldn’t play for the both of them this time. Sara and Summer kept their #1 seed. Went 5-0 in matches, without dropping a single set. If Nicole & Brandie had played the way they played in the Semi...that match is a lot closer. Sara & Summer not in Seattle, but the other big teams are? April & Alix skipping another 4 Star? I am certainly interested in seeing an ATeam/Team Giggles matchup. Summer has really improved her blocking.

I thought Nic played better the first set than Brandie actually, Haven’t seen Nicole play a whole great match since she has returned to competition. She usually takes a set off...That’s some of her & KWs problem on FIVB...Kerri just isn’t the player anymore that can carry a partner if needed like she used to. She got away with it, with the ATeam today.

Yep, Brit and Kelly also not going to the 4 Star in Ostrava. Tamz...You are good at breaking down the FIVBs...There are so many US teams listed for Poland...Who is main draw and who plays Country Quota? It looks to me like Kerri & Nicole vs. Larsen & Stockman? And Looking ahead to Gstaad...7 or 8 teams listed. Just checked the official listing. Country quota will be: -KWJ/NB -Larsen/Stockman -Day/Flint In the main draw: -ATeam (6th seed) -Summer/Sara (9th seed) -Brit/Kelly (17th seed)

So is the CQ played this coming week for Poland since the teams will be overseas in another week. That I’m not sure. Someone from California probably knows.

She got away with it, with the ATeam today. I was extremely impressed with Sara & Summer this weekend. I got to watch them in two matches but I think this team is making great strides. Although if Marlow & Wong compared Sara to Misty one more time, I might of had to mute 🤐 it. I wish they would kind of chill out on the comparisons of the two. I know, it’s no fun if we don’t put a little more pressure on the kid than she already has. And several times mentioning “well on their way to Toyko”. Holy Moly Guys! Nothing like jinxing them. Sara seemed like she was reading the calls great today and seemed faster than I remember her being in the past. I still say Alix is the USA star of the future. Whether or not this is a long term partnership with April-or just through Toyko. I have no idea what April’s plans are after 2020. I already see that April’s serve has a little less on it than in the last couple of years or maybe it’s that what I have watched of her this year, she hasn’t needed it. I try to keep my opinions on the nice side, but in this case here it goes.....Claes & Britt are a train wreck waiting to happen. No communication when things were going Bad in the Semis. I don’t know about this team. I feel Kelly should have gone younger with someone she could have grown with. This partnership is not going to Toyko or anywhere else. i watched Prime only today and didn’t think it was too bad. The women are getting better and Kevin is still Kevin, a dork, but is watchable. Another great weekend of Beach Volleyball. Onto the next! 😊👊 NBC Broadcast....Top Notch...Two Announcers that have it together. I love how they let things out of the bag. Sara calls Kelly at home when she’s sick and breaks up with her. Nice 👍 one. Marlow...When Nicole was struggling in the 1st set..”Perhaps it takes an older player a little bit longer to warm up”!🤣🤣 My hubby looked at me and said...Did the announcer really say that?I said Yup, he did! I think you are exactly right on Alix, I feel like there has been so much momentum around Sara as the next great US star that what should be obvious - Alix has much more potential and is probably better right now - gets glossed over. Agree on Kelly/Brit too, although I wonder if they just arent that good. A lot of us believed in Kelly for a long time, but watching her play she has a lot of Fopma in her game

I’m sure others have pointed out the obvious but is Alix and Sara not a logical pick to grow together with 2 years of AVP/FIVB and make a Tokyo run?

I’m sure others have pointed out the obvious but is Alix and Sara not a logical pick to grow together with 2 years of AVP/FIVB and make a Tokyo run? Alix still seems to have stretches where her passing breaks down, especially when weather is a factor. And I don’t know if she’ll ever set as well as Summer does. But she certainly has the potential to be the top blocker in the world if she keeps improving. Sara looked good this weekend too. But after seeing Sponcil play in Austin and all the women playing NCAA beach right now, I think Sara will have a lot of competition for top defender over the next several years.

You know Guest2. Maybe you are right on there. We can all sit and speculate all day about the Sara & Kelly breakup but it really must have been a few months in the making. Sara didn’t come to this decision alone. She had to have the opinions of several people she respected to guide her here. Misty, Sara’s Dad, Dain, Jose, etc...The weird thing to me was the timing. One tourney into the year when Sara & Summer could have had a while winter together. As much as many of us think that Alix & Sara would be the more dominant team, I think barring a major injury to anyone of those 4 players, these will be the two teams in Toyko2020. As of right now, I don’t know another team that will be able to stay with them through the qualifying process. Golden girl...It appears to me like you’ve given up on our Kerri Girl...I guess with good reason...You look at the remainder of the summer and her and NB are going to have to play in a lot of CQ and qualifiers to get into tournaments. Couple that with an obvious shoulder injury that KW has decided to play with, really has the recipe for disaster. Also the fact that even if KW were healthy...how many more 9ths & 13ths is she gonna be happy with before she says I’d rather just go play on p1440 and collect all the winnings there because all that will be able to play are college athletes anyway? Other competition for the top two 🇺🇸 teams: Britt & Kelly...Terrible Kelly & Emily...Not great Betsi & Em Day...No Lauren & Lane or whoever....Nope Am I missing any other teams that don’t stand a chance going to Toyko!?

I am polly alone but imho Klineman has a lot of work to do. She is really bad in transition, and that is an area that most all of the Worlds best are really strong in. I know shes still learning and figuring things out, but she has still not shown an ability to grind things out when things aren't clean. Well see what happens, she is still relatively new to the game.

Now they (yes, they) need to figure it out. She should be watching a lot of Paven tape too. Maybe bring in Phil to talk to Alix about being that tall and serve receive? While Jen K. was a great player, there really isn't an USA women's player who can relate to Alix. I'm still high on them long term though.

Well see what happens, she is still relatively new to the game. Alix definitely has a lot of room to improve - especially in the areas you name and ball control - but you can watch her now and see a path to her being the best player in the world. Her size and mobility give her a higher ceiling even than Pavan - who is much better now. Maybe 2-3 players in the world (Pavan and possibly Joanna/Kerri) even come close to Alix in that respect With Sarah I just dont see that. Take your pick of the Brazilian defenders + Chantal, Laura, what does Sarah have over them? Is she a better athlete? Not really. Does she have superior skills? No. So what would lead us to believe she will eventually be better than them or even competitive with them?
