OTVA losing some quality coaches. With the exodus of this year's 17s group to Top Select/Blake Rawlins continue, maybe we should rename this thread Shake up with Orlando volleyball...

Is he leaving after the season? They still have AAUs and USAVs.

So I just saw on IG yesterday that TK has hired Danny Eleutiza away from OTVA. This is a seriously big gun as far as coaching! I think as TK gets ready to move into their new facility A5 is going to be looking over their shoulder. I don't know what they did to Coach Suzanne but I'd say she means business.

You could have seen it on VT a day earlier. VT always breaking the volleyball news headlines.

As an outsider looking in, it seems to me both Atlanta and Orlando have the ability to sustain top level clubs and teams. It looks like each year both A5 and OTVA expand into a new area bringing in more talent. I don't see why A5 and TK in Atlanta and OTVA and Top Select in Orlando can't both thrive. There will always be players who switch clubs every year looking for the "best" team or best opportunity.
In the business world competition is always good for the market and the consumer.

I also think the players will benefit from it as well having better competition in the area for the weekends they are not traveling

TK has invested in a state of the art facility with taraflex floors. A5 is being forced to counter and will relocate or at the very least rip up the plastic. As far as good team competition for the two clubs...I think that is still a few years away. A lot of sore feelings will prevent them from inviting each other to each other’s tournaments or any play dates!

Yep...they have been talking about it for years! But now competition has added some urgency. It’s a winner for the consumer no matter which club you go with!

It’s a winner for the consumer no matter which club you go with! To a certain extent I agree. Getting clubs to have better facilities and not slack with their level of training, treat the kids and parents right are all things that competition will help motivate clubs to do the right way. However, it also hurts in the aspect that practices are simply not as challenging when you have talent split into multiple clubs. The gaps between skill levels of anything from a 1's and 2's team to the gap between the L1 and L2 on a specific team all create bad issues IMO. Having a gym full of studs that all beat up on each other all season during practice is pretty important too.
