Agree that SD will be good next year, but they will miss Picha, who has had one of the highest hitting percentages and blocks/set in the NCAA this season, and Edwards, who got to return to the lineup tonight. Picha was one of my favorite players to watch in person. Going to miss watching her when SD comes to the SFH next year.

I noticed the Jr Cali Thompson Univ of Portland setter is not on their roster any longer. Anyone have any insights as to why? She was a big reason for their success.

As a 3-year starter in a program that has done pretty well the past 3 years, as well as being a WCC all-academic team as a biology major, it seems an odd time to transfer. (Transferring as a biology major late in your academic career is not necessarily easy.) Portland faded down the stretch of the conference season, but made it to the NIVC quarterfinals this season.

It will be interesting to see what develops in this offseason with the new transfer rules in place.
So far, the transfer thread lists only one WCC player, Gonzaga sophomore setter, 5'11" Mary Marzo, transferring to Western Michigan (close to home).
And now, possibly Portland setter, Cali Thompson?

Santa Clara will be a year away from getting back on track. LMU was great in the mid 90's it would be great to see them competitive again.

Booth led her team to the Class 6A state championship and pulled off an impressive 31-4 record. The outside hitter tallied 405 kills her senior season, 205 digs and 34 blocks. The Oregon native was named The Oregonian 2018 Player of the Year, all while maintaining a 3.97 grade point average and donating her time to community service.
How did she get away from Oregon and Washington?
